File size of the song (of course depending on the quality) varies a lot, but lets say the songs are of 7MB size as an average.

1GB = 1.000MB

which means that you'll be able to have 4.000/7 ~ 571 songs of 7MB size on 4GB space.

Depends on two things - how long the songs are and the bit rate that the tracks have been ripped at.

The longer any song is, the more space it will take up. Similarly, the higher the bit rate of the track, the bigger the file so the more space it will take up.

Estimate the average file size of the type of track you would put on the MP3 player in megabytes. Divide that number into 4,000 and that will give an approximate number of tracks a 4GB player will hold.

So an average file size of 3mb (4,000/3) would mean approximately 1,333 choons. Wikkid.
