Since patch 4.0.1, once you hit level 80 you will have a total of 36 talent points. Cataclysm will introduce 5 additional levels for each one of which you will gain one talent point, for a total of 41 at level 85.

∙ 12y agoYou get your first Talent Point at level 10, and then one at every odd level (11, 13, 15 and so on) until level 80. Starting at level 81, you get one Talent point per level. This ends up with 41 Talent points at level 85.
