There is a disparity in sentencing of embezzlement cases. A review of Maine and Vermont alone shows the following examples. One woman that netted 190,000 got 9 months and one that took 25,000 got a suspended sentence. During the same time period a woman that took almost 300,000 got 18 months. Guess it depends on the DA and if it is promotion or raise time.

∙ 10y agoHow much jail time could you grt for embezzlement? I was sentenced to 30 days in jail and then 45 weekends plus 10 years probation and ordered to pay back the entire $26,000. It was my first offense and I am a married women with 3 school-aged children. I have no idea if my sentence is typical or not. I hope this hepls you. I can tell you this....It isn't worth it!
