It depends on the size of the balloon. If it's a small balloon, about a half gallon will due. If it's a larger balloon, about a gallon or so. Now, if it's a very small weak balloon, about 1/2 quarter gallon should do it.

How strong is a water balloon?

I am assuming you mean how much force is required to break the water balloon on impact. Cannot be answered - it would depend on too many factors, such as how much water is in the balloon (more water would cause it to pop more easily, less water and you could be slamming that thing against a brick wall and it won't break). It would also depend on the materials used to make the balloon, and how hard you throw it, as to whether it would break on impact.

How can objects have the same mass but have different volume?

If they have different densities. Imagine a balloon. Now fill it up with air: it expands. Imagine another balloon, and fill it with water until it has the same volume as the first one. The water filled one will be much heavier. This is because the water particles are much closer together; you can fit more of them in the same volume. The gas particles, on the other hand, bounce around with lots of empty space in between them. There are fewer gas particles and the balloon has less mass.

How far can a water balloon rolls before it bursts?

This has to do, not so much with the distance, and not even with the speed, but how suddenly the balloon's speed changes - in other words, how strong you hit it. Of course, tossing the balloon farther may require more force - but then, in theory you can make it speed up gradually. - It will also depend on the specific balloon (its material, and how thick it is), and how much you fill it with water.

How much water should a water balloon hold?

it depends what type of ballon it is, and how big the ballon is

Why does a hot air balloon need a burner to work?

To keep it hot you. The REASON they use a 'Burner' in a Hot Air Balloon is to 'heat the Air, to 'fill' the Balloon, so it will 'rise'... The only other way to get the air Hot enough to fill the Balloon, would be to make the 'Basket' MUCH, MUCH Larger, and fill it with Liberals, and just let them talk. BUT, I don't think the Balloon would ever get off the ground, because, the BULLCRAP would counteract the Hot Air, and they would cancel each other out...
