normally a suspension bridge can hold up to 8,000lbs at once, but if the bridge is very long it might hold less because the longer the bridge to weaker it is. if the bridge is short it can hold up to 10,000lbs at once because it is short and can hol more wieght. even if your bridge has extra layers on it to support it more it is still weaker then a short bridge.

Not so. I'm afraid the first answer is not at all helpful or even very meaningful. The capacity of any bridge depends on what load it is designed to take at maximum traffic, the required length, wind-loading and factor of safety.

10,000lbs is not very much at all. It's less than 5 tons, or about 3 cars. Try thinking of, say, the Golden Gate Bridge if you are in the USA, or the Humber Bridge if in the UK, at rush hour!

The answer to this question depends upon a wide variety of factors, such as the dead load, the live load, and the dynamic load. San Francisco's world-famous Golden Gate Bridge is now only the twelfth-longest completed suspension bridge in the world, and second-longest in the US. It carries six lanes of vehicular traffic, pedestrians, and bicycles.
