Meat is not necessarily the most fattening part of your diet. If you would like to be a vegetarian that's fine, there are lots of good reasons to be a vegetarian (although I personally still eat meat) but that does not in itself guarantee that you will lose weight. What matters for weight loss is your total calorie consumption, no matter what kind of food you are eating.

Becoming vegetariandoes not necessarily mean you will loose weight. Often times people in fact gain weight by becoming vegetarian because they replace their protein with carbs. Switching to a vegetarian diet can however be a very good and healthy choice if done correctly. You need to make sure you eat plenty of vegetables and a moderate amount of nuts. It can be easy to o.d. on nuts, but nuts are packed with nutrients as well.

"Vegan" is a lifestyle, not necessarily a weightloss tool. It depends on how much you eat and whether your calories-in are less than calories-burned.

none ! you usually substitute that with other foods ie vegetables rice pasta ! & the meat is a good source of protein.
