The 2012 Ford F150 trucks can tow loads up to a weight of 1500 kilos if the object has wheels. However, if it does not have wheels then there will be added friction with the ground so it can only tow 1100 kilos.
I'm not sure of the actual weight it can tow, but I was told it couldn't tow over a 6'x5' trailer. From what I understand, it can tow a lawnmower, snowmobile, smaller things but cannot handle anything else because they tend to tip.

The major difference between the F150 and F250 is size and power. The F250 has a more powerful drivetrain and can tow and haul more cargo.
The only SUVs with such a rating were the Excursion (which as built on an F250 chassis), and the Hummer H1 (which could tow, it didn't do so well towing at highway speeds). Honestly, if you're looking to tow this kind of weight, a 3/4 ton pickup is much more adequate.
Open the driver's side door and look at the manufacturer's plate. Look for the GVWR which is your gross vehicle rating. That is your towing capcity combined with the weight of the vehicle itself.
