In Nevada you must get 20 out of 25 correct to pass, It's really easy just get the (FREE) book from the D.M.V. study it for 30-60min and take the test (given on a computer at D.M.V.) you'll leave with your permit. I think the test is $18.
You can only miss one
Edit: I know the first time you take your test in Arizona, you can miss 7 questions. That's how many i missed and when the notice came up that i failed. Afterwards the lady said I failed because you have to score an 80% or higher to pass the test. Some places it might be one but none that I am aware of.
there is no limit for taking the written test... you can take it as many times as you want until you pass... The ministry of transportation isn't too worried about how many times you take it because they make money everytime you do... your best bet is to just study up and only have to take the test once, but if you fail you can always take it again
It might depend on the state, but I know that in NJ and NC you need an 80% or better to pass.
You can only miss 7 questions.

You should be taking your driving test AT the DMV, from a DMV examiner. He will record your score on the DMV computer record data base. This would be for the written or road test. Even if you take you tests from a third party tester, he/she would still need to report it to the DMV.
No.
It's just a written test. You go to your DMV and take the test, is all.
A test of your memorized knowledge, also known as the written test. You answer questions on paper and then they are graded.
