I just changed the serpentine belt on my 97 Cherokee 4.0First look for the belt routing label under hood if you can't find the label, make a drawing of belt routing before starting. Loosen the 2 top Power Steering pump bolts then loosen the nut in the center of the idler pulley (below the power steering pump) then wind the tensioning bolt at the lower left side of the power steering pump bracket counterclockwise (lower left side looking at the bracket from front of car) belt should slide off. installation is the reverse. Caution! be sure to route belt per the diagram under hood (or the drawing that you made before you started this job)you could cause the water pump to run backwards. Not Good!!Tension the belt to 1/4 to 1/2 inch deflection between pulleys by turning the power steering pump tensioning bolt clockwise. Run engine 3 to 5 minutes to seat the new belt. Then shut down and recheck belt tension. You want 1/4 to 1/2 inch deflection when you push in the belt between pulleys. Tighten all bolts. Don't forget to tighten the idler pulley bolt in center of pulley. You'll need 13mm,15mm and 17mm wrenches.
Only when there are noticably deep cracks across the ribs of the belt.
about every 60,000 miles. check it for cracks and stains. if its bad replace it.
Every 35-45k miles to be safe.
Na-wau-tai. Written as opposed to spoken Cherokee often differs, but I believe the NA is pronounced as in the first two letters of Noggin.
Cherokee lived mainly throughout the southern and south central area of what is now the united states. That is not to say that is the only place they were located, bands of Cherokee were spread out over a vast area east of the 'plains' and often intermingled with other tribes.
At 18000 miles if towing
The long and often fatal journey of these Native American tribes is known as the Trail fo Tears. The Cherokee nation was forced to leave their land and were made to march 1200 miles. Many died from starvation, the cold, and diseases. About 4000 died on the journey
How do I change a headlight bulb on a 1998 jeep grand cherokee?
never
According to Honda specs the serpentine belt, surrounding belts, and water pump should be replaced very 105,000 miles. I know people wh waited past that point and their Honda is now in the junkyard after the belt broke and the engine parts flew together.
Jeep doesn't include it in its normal service schedules. Every 50,000 miles should be enough.
Serpentine is often used as a decorative rock.
Not often if there tarting to wear and tear you should replace them.
How often should you change water pump in a boat
The Prizm has a timing CHAIN, not belt. The timing chain does not get replaced on a scheduled interval. It should never need to be replaced. The serpentine belt, however, does need to be replaced. Inspect the belt for cracks and glazing, and replace. It is not a difficult DIY job. It is easiest to do it from under the car, after removing the splash pan.
yes. it is often easier and about the same price to just buy a reman. starter though.
Replace headlight bulb only when blown.
I've heard you should replace your pillow when you can bend it in half without it bending back.
Every 50,000 miles.
all the time
