It is not necessary to ever empty your desktop recycle bin.
The recycle bin has a certain amount of disk-space dedicated to it. When a new file is deleted (and falls into the recycle bin) an older file will fall out (and into permanent oblivion). So you can happily use your computer for years and years without ever emptying the recycle bin and it will never cause problems.

∙ 14y agoI would do it everyday. That's what I do, especially if you delete a lot of stuff. It can clog up your computer. You should get into the habit of deleting it immediately, if you are sure that you do not need it. Hope this helps!
