Depends how old you are. If you are 18+, you can get one now...if not you will need to go with an adult.

NO. What part of the term ILLEGAL don't you get? If the father is legally here (he has a "green card"), he must apply first to Immigration for a "green card" or visa for his child. Then the child can get a Social security number.

Yes.You can apply for and get a S.S. number at any age. Parents should get a card for children when in grade school. Please do not use this site for Social Security information Call 1-800-772-1213 or visit www.socialsecurity.gov for answers. Take information from anywhere else at your own risk.

A social security card should be applied for as soon as a person is born. Ususally when you are in the hospital you will be given an application to fill out and mail off to get the card. It is a lot easier to apply when the person is yourng because if you wait until you are an adult it will be much harder to get one and it will seem also suspicious.

Your parents should have obtained one for you when you were born. They have to have a number in order to claim you in taxes.

Does social security card given alien right to work?

If a person is an alien, and has become a legal resident, he needs his paper work showing that he is in this country legally. Once is he has this he may apply for the social security card. It is the government obligation to issue these to people who apply, otherwise "they" borrow or buy one from someone to be able to work. Now, who gets credit for the earnings of these people. Another thing to consider is that social security is also used to help people out in their old age. if this is not done, these people will be on welfare all their lives. we do not want this! Aliens should be able to provide for their old age as well as the rest of the population. thank you for letting me offer my position.
