In Ohio, you have to attend school until you are 18 or until you graduate (which ever comes first). If you are over 16, then you can request an exception if you are regularly employed at a full-time job. However, even if the exception is approved, you will be required to enroll in ABLE (Adult Basic and Literacy Education program) classes or apply to take the GED test if you have earned at least 12 high school credits.

Every state has different laws and therefore, different ages that you can drop out with parental permission. No state allows you to drop out before you are 16. You have to attend some type of conference with a parent and teacher, they decide if it is "O.K." for you to drop out. At 18 if you are still attending school you can drop out almost instantly with no parental permission.

The laws vary by state, so it depends on where you live. In some states you're required to attend school until you're 17, graduate, or pass the GED (which ever comes first). Also, keep in mind that in many states if you quit school you lose your drivers license. Let me just add studies have shown that most people who fail to complete high school, spend the rest of their lives working a minimum wage job and barely being able to pay their bills. Is that what you want for your life?

In today's requirements, you're asking the wrong question. The only REAL difference between Humans and the other animals of this world is our intelligence. If you decide to drop out of school, you're giving in to the emotional/biologic drives that seem to start when we're going through the adolescent turmoil. In ages past, the emotional drive to get out of their parents house was normal. Our ancestors needed to establish their own homestead while they were young and had the energy. Biology suppresses fear and apprehension so that we'll take those chances when we're younger. Age and wisdom teach us the value of education, especially in a world that uses machines to perform most of the physical labor. Terminating your education at a young age assures that you'll be on the bottom of the financial ladder to success. * The compulsory education law for Ohio is 18, the same as the legal age of majority.

No, Ohio does not have laws that make exceptions to the necessity of having parental consent to be married when it pertains to the pregnancy of a minor. In some cases the court will intervene on the minor's behalf to waive the parental consent law. The minor should contact the office of the clerk of the circuit or county court in the city or county of residence.
