Some people find them repulsive or morally reprehensible. But the victim's of leprosy [Hansen's Disease ] were once regarded the same way, as if leprosy was a punishment for sin. No matter how you feel personally , if you are sick and/or dying, how do you wish to be treated? Judge not.

The same way you would react towards any person with a serious medical condition - with tact, compassion and empathy. With the advent of effective anti-retroviral drugs, many individuals infected with HIV can live quite normal lives (with the addition of a handful of pills several times a day). Once the disease progresses to AIDS, the individual will likely experience numerous illnesses for extended periods of time, as his immune system is no longer effective in ridding the body of pathogens.
