You need to stay away from dairy and beer and cigarettes for about 5 days even if you feel fine, because they can cause a nasty yeast infection in your mouth called thrush. When I got my tongue pierced, I stuck to soft foods for about 2 days, and was eating normal foods but no dairy by the third day. Within a week you should be fine. Definitely switch to a shorter barbell as soon as you possibly can - it will make it much easier to talk and eat. I have a terrible lisp with a 5/8" barbell so I got a shorter one, and I'm very comfortable at 1/2"
A few hours to 2 weeks depending on the person.
You can eat them (CAREFULLY) after the swelling goes down; be sure to rinse your mouth out & keep it clean.
If it's healed, yes.
two weeks! defiantly wanna avoid a yeast infection on your tongue!
If it's not healed, you should avoid it.
Well you can but I don't think that you're supposed to.
Food would be a good thing, unlike a tongue piercing you can eat almost anything so long as you rinse after eating and stay on something for swelling.
hey man whatever floats your boat

yes you can omg!, i had my tongue piercing yesterday and i am eating banana's, you have to chew them slowly though bc otherwise youll bite your tongue bar but its soothing if they are cold and my advice is to cut the banana really thin
About 3 days max.
Ice, yoghurt, and just a lot of soft foods like jello or applesauce.
