(Wide Area Network) A long-distance communications network that covers a wide geographic area, such as a state or country. The telephone companies and cellular carriers deploy WANs to service large regional areas or the entire nation. Large enterprises have their own private WANs to link remote offices, or they use the internet for connectivity. Of course, the Internet is the world's largest WAN.
WiFi is a wireless linking protocol that clients (and access points) use to communicate on the 2.4 GHz spectrum. It is a VERY complicated topic to answer, and most people wouldn't even care, however, if you are interrested, please search on Google for how wireless transmission works, how modulation works, and how wireless networking works.

Wireless systems transmit using radio waves or infra-red light. So these devices have radio transmission facilities and radio receivers. These radio receivers constantly scan the airways for incoming signals. When it detects the signal it recognises, it captures it and converts it into digital form. The digital signal can be transmitted to the CPU either by cable, or wireless routers can be used. ___________________________________
Wireless technologies (802.11) have radio transmission facilities and radio
receivers. These radio receivers scan the airways for incoming signals (radio waves).
As soon as it detects the signal which it recognizes, it captures it and converts it into
a digital form.
There are different types of the 802.11 such as
802.11a --> which can transmit 5GHz and handle up to 54Mbp/s.
802.11b --> which can transmit 2.4GHz and handle up to 11Mbp/s.
802.11g --> which can transmit 2.4GHz and handle up to 54Mbp/s
802.11n --> which can handle up to 140Mbp/s
There are different peripherals for computers that use wireless technology such as
wireless:
Mouse
Keyboard
Printer
Presentation pointer
NIC's/Router
Some wireless devices also use infra-red light such as remote controls and TVs.

Wi-Fi allows LANs to be made without cabling for client devices, typically reducing the costs of network deployment and expansion. Spaces where cables cannot be run, such as outdoor areas and historical buildings, can host wireless LANs. Unlike mobilephones, any standard Wi-Fi device will work anywhere in the world.
Yes, it's built in and works similarly to the wifi on the iPod Touch.
It's free but it only works with wifi 😋
no the wifi connection doesn't cost but it need GPRS connection. The wifi works as booster to ur internet
i have. works like a charm
Yes it works through wifi
A wifi adapter works by picking up wifi signals in any reachable area. If there is no password then you can login with no problem but if its to a personal home then the wifi probably has a password and you won't be able to use it.
No you do not need WIFI to use the iPhone. The iPhone works with either 3G or WIFI. Some apps require WiFi to download or run depending on their size. I find wifi works best though and is faster. YouTube videos are extreemly clear and crisp with wifi.
I use it because I cant get wireless in my area and te pocket wifi works fine. Hope this helps
Possibly. If you take your computer on a plane with wifi and when your airplane is in another country and the wifi works, then yes

You need to access the internet from your PS3 to go to the PlayStation network from your PS3. It does not have to be WiFi it can also be ethernet cable, but nothing else
