First you must measure the shower pan area, then you need to make sure that your liner has enough room to cover at least 8 inches above the floor base for at least 3 corners of a rectangular or square shower pan.

The liner is sold in a seven foot width or a 6 foot. You fasten the corners with copper nails by nailing them to the studs whereever they need to be supported.(stay high with the nails). The nails can be bought at any plumber supply house.

Then for the corners you must fold inward, facing the corner to the back (like a sheeve on a shirt). When folded in, you'll see what i mean.

Then for the stepping area, you must cut out the shape for the step, preferably using a box cutter. You might need help to hold the liner straight and then nailing it down to the step. Cut any excess liner out the way.

Then there is one more step. You will need shower pan liner glue, which is sometimes green and it smells like wet spray paint. You will need to cut out some small or big triangles out of the liner to put near the step corners. You will need to lay them a certain way so they can cover the edges you cut with the box cutter. Lay the glue on the corners and also on the triangles-- let them dry for 1 or 2 minutes and then lay them correctly. Make sure that you don't leave any cracks where water can seep through.

It's kind of funny but the water will never reach that high, only once in its life, and that's when you test it for leaks. You will need a plug: a 2 inch test plug should do it. The plug should be an air type, by which I mean you might need a small pump. Fill the pan with water. LOL p.s you only need like 4 buckets of water, try not to let the shower water run, because you might spray it all over, thinking you have a leak.

That's it--you're done. Let the plug sit over night or at least 6 hours to see if any water has drained or leaked downstairs.

Tile guys usually tell the plumber to get off his butt and do it. But if he isn't around.Unscrew the drain put the pan in, run it up the walls about 5 or 6 inches, cut a hole for the drain after you have it lined up on the wALLS AND THE SHOWER CURB.it will bunch up alittle in the corners,if the shower is already greenboarded or durocked tuck it behind it. Then get a piece of metal lathe about the same size as the rubber pan, cut a hole for the drain and cut the corners so they fit in as square as possable. run the metel lathe up the wall 4 to 5 inchs and wrap it around the curb. Put the drain back in. Do not staple the metel lathe down you can on the curb. Then mud the pan pitch it to the drain. watch for nails staples ect.if ya puncture that pan your S.O.L

If you want to install Plumbing in a new shower and need to ask this question, you really mustn't try it, because you aren't a plumber.

It might cost a bit to get a real plumber to do the job, but that's nothing to what an amateur job will cost you when it all goes wrong. You wouldn't believe the damage your home can end up with when things involving water don't work right.

For similar reasons, get an electrician to do your wiring, a carpenter to hang your doors, and so on. You wouldn't get a mate who's found a website on anatomy to take out your appendix, so don't trust your home to work that will - not might - cause real trouble.

All qualified tradesman have credentials they will show you if you ask, to prove they've done the study and know what they're doing. If they don't want to show you their papers, they aren't qualified. Find someone else. Your insurance is very unlikely to cover damage caused by letting unqualified people - including yourself - loose on your home improvements.

This depends whether you are talking about the shower door liner or the lining of the back plates of certain mixers.

Want to install tile in bathroom should i remove counter and installing new shower pan do you install tile under shower pan or tile around pan?

I would tile up to the pan where it sits. If you remove it, you will have to tile completely under it so it stays level and raise the drain. If it is in the basement or or over a finished ceiling this can be a problem. If there is a vanity, I would remove it and tile under because is is much less hassle and gives a better result.

Shower Pan ?

I'm excited to share my experience with the HYDRO-BLOK shower wall panels and shower pans. We recently did a DIY shower remodel project with them, and it was so easy to install! The panels look like actual stone or tile because of their fantastic patterned quality, but they are considerably simpler to clean. And the pan is waterproof, so there's no need for caulking around the edges or grout. It's a great option for anyone who wants to do their own shower remodel without breaking the bank.
