However, if the reason you are resetting is to clear a Check Engine / Service Engine Soon light, you need to identify and fix the fault that caused the light in the first place, or the light will come back on. Also, after reset, the computer will be in re-learn mode, and the car will not pass an emissions test until that is complete.
