Don't make a cable with the intention of plugging a generator into an outlet in your house, it is incredibly dangerous!
Power from your generator will back-feed into the power lines, posing a severe unexpected shock hazard to any line-workers who may be fixing the lines - the very same reason you are wanting to use your generator!
Plug your appliances directly into the outlets on your generator. If you want to power the outlets in your house from the generator you must do it right and install a proper 'generator transfer switch' at the main incoming breaker panel which is situated where the main electricity service cable comes into your house.

What needs to be done in remove the old three blade dryer plug and install a new four blade cord on the dryer.Dryer plug three to fourInstructions should come with the new cord. Open up the electrical access panel on the back of the dryer. You will see a terminal block with three wires going into it from the plug cord assembly. A red and black and white are now connected to the terminal strip. Look at the position and colours of the existing 3 prong cord and how it is connected. Make a diagram. Coloured wires on the outside terminals white in the center. From the center wire terminal you will see a jumper strap that goes to the frame of the dryer. When installing the four prong plug this jumper is removed completely. The kit should have with it a grounding lug that connects to where the removed grounding strip attached to the frame of the dryer. This is the attachment point for the fourth green ground wire from the new dryer cord assembly.

I,m going to bypass the generator and plug into the house for my race car trailor. Once I pull the plug from the gewnerator I will have a four prong male need to plug into a for prong female then be able to plug into a house socket.
Check Lowes and Home Depot they normally carry the adaptors
No you can not you will need to replace the plug with a 4 prong the same as the style of your oven and change your breaker to the correct Amp for your style of 4 prong plug

It may be a 220 Dryer, and you will need a new outlet installed. There should be no extra wires when connecting the Power cord to the plug
Buy a new receptacle that your plug fits in. You probably need one with a neutral so look for 125/240v.
Before you follow any of these instructions, make certain that you check with the documetation that came with the generator, since I can't be certain of what your generator is doing. The following assumes that the generator provides 220 output and is NOT 3 phase. If it's 3 phase, all of the following is wrong and don't do this! In general, 220 circuits have 2 110 "leg's" which are nothing more than a center-tap into the 220 source. It can be a center tap on a transformer or a generator. The center tap is designated with a white wire, and the two "hot" lines are usually designated with either black or red. In the case of your generator, if it is not a 3 phase circuit, the 4th wire is probably green which is the universal indicator for a ground wire. To be safe, it is a good idea to ground the generator using a long, copper grounding rod that has been driven into the ground and using a good sized wire (typically #10 or larger) connect it to the generator at the grounding lug, again, see instructions that came with the generator. To make the welder work with the generator, you can "get by" connecting the white wire to the white of the generator or if you're using a plug connect it to the silver screw. The two black wires or the black and red wires are connected to the two brass colored screws. Whenever a ground wire is provided on a wire it should be connected to grounding screw of the plug. This is something that should not be done. If this was to be done you would be omitting the ground which in point can make it unsafe. I recommend changing the female end of the system and making it a 4 prong.
The four blade dryer plug brings a separate ground wire from the machine to the electrical grounding system. The three blade dryer plug depended on the neutral wire of the plug to make this connection.

It depends on the welder. If it doesn't need 120V you can just put a wire nut on the neutral and wire a 240V plug. If it needs 120/240V you need the 4 prong plug.
