At the time she was in California, California was a free state and slavery was forbidden. That was how Biddy Mason was able to petition for freedom.
I was wondering the same.
The right to freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom to peacefully assemble, freedom of press, to own property, to bare arms, to petition the gov for the redress of grievances, trial by jury, to excessive bail, to a speedy trail and to be able to face accuser, freedom from illegal search and seizure
freedom is all about being able to do anything like freedom of speech able to vote freedom to be able to pick a religion and much more.
Pip learned that Joe and Biddy had gotten married and were leading a happy life together at the forge. He also discovered that they had a child, and that they were all content and fulfilled in their simple life.
Probably once you get around 1,000 signatures you may be able to get your petition noticed.
A mason may be able to do acc block but acc block cannot do mason.
The rights that were promised to the first eight amendments to the Constitution were civil liberties such as freedom of speech, press, religion, and trial by jury. See the link below for all of the amendments.

here is the first amendment in its entirety: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
its means to be able to add on or have suggestions for the government!
yes slaves were able to fight for their freedom in 1862 because that was the only way they could be free inless they bought their freedom but most slaves didnt have money to do so
What is te denotive and connotative of freedom
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." It guarantees our free speech. It is part of "Bill of Rights" Most of the world does not have this. Count your blessings.!! The Bill of Rights is the first 10 amendments to the Constitution. The Bill of Rights was written to protect the individual rights of the American People. The amendments, or a change to an existing document, each represented something important that affects everyone everyday. The amendment I value the most is the first, which is freedom of religion, speech, assembly, and the press, because it allows citizens to speak and express their views without concern of retribution against them by the elected government. In some countries, you cannot question the government for fear of your life! Here, even if we disagree with the elected officials, we are protected and allowed to express that disagreement. For example, if we go back to the 1990's, Martin Luther King Jr. had his free speech by talking to the public on racism and that African American's should have the same rights as Caucasians, etc. He wouldn't be able to do this if the first amendment hadn't been created. people have the right to worship,to speak freely,to gather together, and to question the government CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF; OR ABRIDGING THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH, OR OF THE PRESS; OR THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE PEACEABLY TO ASSEMBLE, AND TO PETITION THE GOVERNMENT FOR A REDRESS OF GRIEVANCES.
