It wasn't. This is another internet myth. The autopsy found various cuts and bruises on Whitney Houston's body, some of which were consistent with drug abuse or accidental cigarette burns; but while there was a cut on the side of her neck, the autopsy did not find that her throat was severed or slashed in any way.
