Because of a desire to reshape that portion of the city in a more hygiene way, incorporate fire safety, make wharves more accessible from the Thames River, create wider streets, they also wanted no houses to obstruct the fine view of the Thames. The how part of the reconstruction is most amazing.

∙ 11y agoBecause over time more and more people started inventing new things and more people came to live in London as it is a good settlement area. Builders started to build more buildings and things like the WW2 museum so more people came to London to sight see. Also back in the day people used to use a horse and carriage to get to places now they use cars, buses bikes..etc, so people can travel to London much more quickly.
