Whatever war they fought in and are still fighting in Iraq GIs and other recruits simply miss their own native soil and their families. They may not get mail from home for months if they are on the move. They don't know if they are coming back alive or not. That's a heavy load for the young men/women and also a terrible load on the families shoulders as they don't know for sure what is going on where their loved ones are fighting and have to rely on the media's not so good news and Propaganda (not always the truth.)
