I have had anorexia. It is not fun AT ALL. You would think that it would be worth it, to be skinny, but it isn't. I went into a short coma for a day or two because of anorexia.
Since Victorian times! Look up 'Fasting Girls' this was anorexia with a different name.
you should look for a doctor.
Anorexia isn't caused by what you eat, but by how much and what you think about your eating habits and the way you look. Obsessing about your weight and looks can trigger anorexia.
FASLE
It can be. With anorexia, hair can become more brittle or fagile, fall out, thin, become lank, or lose its "shine" due to lack of nutrients. Dry, flaky skin is also a side-effect of anorexia. Together, they can make it look like "dry" hair is a consequence of anorexia.
Google video, YouTube, or an anorexia-related education website are all good places to look, and also maybe a health video on that topic.
Anorexia is actually not a difference in what somone sees but a feeling of self pitty and lack of worth. An anorexic doesn't see any diffrent than you do. Anorexic people can look like just your ordinary everyday person. They can also be incredibly thin or in some cases may be over weight. there is no actual "type" of image for someone who suffers with anorexia. also, they are not "anorexic" they are people who suffer from "anorexia" known as "anorexia nervosa".
There can be many good places to look. They include... * Medical record books, indexes * DSM records * CDC records of eating disorders / anorexia * Medically official websites about anorexia
All of the above
If you are skinny when you look at yourself in the mirror you look super fat,and you star getting obssed and eating less then
Anorexia has been around for a VERY long time (look up fasting girls).
Not at all. If you're asking this because you have thin arms, you can tell yourself if you have it or not. There are several types of anorexia, but to tell if you have it a few simple ways would be looking at how much you eat, how much you exercise, and and what you say is beauty. Few I've read or talked to that have anorexia or any eating disorders will actually deny it, so odds are you would know if you had it. Now if you're asking this out of fear a friend might have it, thin arms are not what you should look at. There are lots of people who are fairly thin without eating disorders, so your best bet to tell on them is also the food. Look at if they constantly turn down going out to eat, and if they accept activities that let you work out. Also listen to if they constantly call themselves fat or idolize the unhealthily thin. There are lots of signs for anorexia that would take far to long to go into, but that's the basics on telling in general.
