If Islam is a religion of peace why are so many terrorists Muslims?

Its a dilemma really. On the one hand you have moderates and apologetics saying and vehemently claiming how Islam is a religion of peace, and it is. On the other hand you have extremists who are Muslims and rightly so represent Islam, who are convinced that their religion is under attack from the west and they must fight back as commanded by Islam. Jihad i think. But taking reality and what we see many areas that practise Islam without western secularism are barbaric ruling with sharia law, of which instiling fear into the people is done to keep them in check. But also we should realise a Muslim is simply a person he or she can either be good or bad just like a christian a Jew or even an atheist.

Islam is a religion of peace. The root word of the Arabic word of Islam is "salem" that means one to be in peace. It is the western media that propagated the idea of terrorism of Islam religion to justify invasion of the western countries to Islamic countries claiming waging war against terrorism while the main purpose is to get control of the energy and mineral resources of those Islamic countries. When you find a terrorist whose religion is Islam they call him/her by his/her religion as an Islamic terrorist. When you find a terrorist whose religion is Christianity or Judaism they call him.her by his/her nationality as Us or English or Japanese terrorist. What about the massacres committed against Muslims in Serbia, Burma, Chechen, the Palestinian territoriality, Iraq, and other countries. Are the killers Muslim terrorists?!

This false impression about Islam is propagated by Media just to divert non Muslims away from Islam and resist the flow of non Muslims who convert to Islam when they recognize it truthfulness and recognize the scientific miracles in Quran that prove it is a true God revelations to prophet Muhammad. Muslims are human beings like any other human being. They follow the religion of Islam. Muslims believe that there is one God and Prophet Mohammed (p.b.u.h.) is his Messenger. In Islam there are rules and guidelines they have to follow. There are the 5 pillars of Islam. A Muslim has to do these 5 pillars. A Muslim prays 5 times a day. There are Sunnahs they can pray before a salah. A Muslim also fasts the full month of Ramadan along with the 1 day of Arafaat in the month of Thul Hijja. Another thing a Muslim does is read Quran. The Quran is the holy book of Islam. Also, before reading Quran or praying a Muslim has to do wudu. Wudu is sort of like a cleansing to the body that the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) did. It consists of first washing your hands thoroughly 3 times, then you gurgle 3 times, clean your nose by breathing in water and then blowing it out 3 times, washing from your elbow to your hand each one 3 times starting with the right. Wiping your hair and then your ear once, after that you clean each foot up to your ankle 3 times starting with the right leg and ending with the left. A Muslim tries to keep in touch with Allah by saying Zikr, reading Quran, praying, and saying kind things about the Prophet p.b.u.h. Another thing is that in Islam, a Muslim is taught to give his brother and sister 70 chances before punishing or saying something mean. Another thing is that a Muslim is taught not to hate anyone. Even if they get on your nerves, you can dislike someone but not hate them. We are taught to accept people and things the way they are and we are taught to appreciate everything.
