If a baby is born at 36 weeks will it be OK?
Yes. At 36 weeks a baby is fully developed. He/she may be a little lighter than the majority of babies who are born. However, there should not be any problems. It should not mean that you and your baby have to stay in the hospital any longer.

You are not "ready to have your baby" if you are only 36 weeks. It would be dangerous for your baby, who would be born a preemie.
Answer . This is a common misunderstanding. The 36 weeks date is probably the time since your LMP (last menstrual period). The 33 week age is the age of your foetus by ultrasound.\n. \nThe difference is that you would have conceived about 2-and-a-half weeks AFTER your last period. So it HAS …been 36 weeks since your last period, but the baby has only been growing for the last 33 weeks or so.\n. \nIf you have any questions, ask your doctor- and remember, if they aren't worried, you can rest easy too. Hope this helps!\n. \nAj :) (MORE)
something is going on . Im not a dr. but I don't think so. If a child has a fever of one hundred or one hundred and one, it is usually a sign that he is cutting teeth. Therefore, not knowing how old your baby is, I would say something is going on inside. make sure you are not keeping them over bu…ndled with clothing or hats. heat escapes from the head, so if you keep it covered all the time, the body is retaining the heat. Talk to your dr. (MORE)

If you aren't yet 37 weeks (full term) and having labor symptoms, you need to contact your Doctor!
\nYes. Babies born after 36 weeks gestation are considered full term and are usually just fine.
The survival rate is about 90%.. however their is many factors to consider; such as birth weight, apgar score, was the mother given steroid injection while the baby was in the womb for lung matturity?. Normally the outcome is okay, with maybe only a few days in the NICU for observation, however a p…rematture baby is always at higher risk for infection. Yes it is possible. at 34 weeks the baby still has yet to develop their lungs and eyes.. Both my children were earlier than 40 weeks. Thirty-seven and thirty-five weeks respectively. They were both healthy. The youngest had oxygen for about 2 hours, then did well. I worked in a newborn nursery for 18 years, and infants 37 weeks are considered term. Infants of mothers who experience epis…odes of preterm labor are more mature due to being stressed in utero. I would say yes, in the absence of underlying conditions, a 36 or 37 week infant will be okay. (MORE)

Highly unlikely.. ANSWER 2 . I don't usually cite Wikipedia but this gives quite a clear outline of birtweight at various gestational ages.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birth_weight
You may have a condition called pica, this condition causes an expecting mother to have unusual cravings. You need to call you doctor immediately and explain the cravings and alert him to what you have ingested.
You are 36 weeks pregnant. (fetal age 34 weeks). The baby is about 19 inches (48 cm) long. . Weight is around 6 and a half pounds (3 kg). . The baby's body is becoming chubby as fat layers build. . Between now and birth they may gain about an ounce (30g) a day . While it says that your baby we…ighs six and a half pounds this week and measures 19 inches long, this is only an estimate. In general, babies are gaining half a pound per week now. Baby continues gaining weight as fat deposits and is forming creases in the neck and wrists. http://www.baby2see.com/development/ (MORE)

I dont know the statistics, but i work in Labor and Delivery at a hospital. It seems everyone goes into labor on thursdays!
A baby can survive at 24 weeks. we have better technology these days where anything is possible. If you had a baby at 32 weeks she will most likely have to stay in the hospital till she is considered full term, or better yet breathe and eat on its own.
A typical pregnancy is 40 weeks, so a baby can expect to be in the womb for 40 weeks. However, some babies are born sooner and some are born later, so it depends on the mom and baby just how much the baby 'can take.'. If you are pregnant and have concerns it would be a good idea to check with your …doctor though! (MORE)
yes. It doesn't mean that your going to have the baby early it just means that the baby is getting ready. My 2nd daughter got in the head down position and stayed that way at 16 weeks. It just depends on the baby.
Sorry, but not really. You may have noticed things that the baby picks up on and starts kicking. If you have, I would just avoid things like that. Some babies respond to loud music, the mothers voice etc. Some babies also kick if your heart beat goes up and/or stressed. So just hang in there and rel…ax, you don't have much further to go! (MORE)

I bet you everything is fine because the baby is always moving and turning. Especially in the last month of pregnancy. And even if the baby is still facing that way during labor the doctor can most likely just turn the baby's head around. So there is nothing to worry about unless the doctor says oth…erwise. Like if it is a high risk pregnancy or you have a premature baby. I just had a baby and went through all of these questions myself. My baby was transverse for the longest time but she came out perfect. Good Luck and Congrats. :] (MORE)
You can have it at 37 weeks, as they consider you full term at that point in time.
a vet NOW she might have some left tha died or the after birth did not come out
Oh, the chances of survival are quite high! At 27 weeks pregnant, your baby has an 85% chance of survival if it were to be born that week! You are nine weeks ahead of that! Your baby's lungs are fully developed at this stage so I wouldn't worry.
You are 36 weeks pregnant and have marijuana and me can cranberry pills clean you and your baby out of the marijuana?
"No. A baby's system is extremely sensitive to outside forces. The THC and nicotine from the marijuana can have long term effects and may be stored in the baby's system for much longer than your own due to their own inability to filter their wastes." . First off, there is no nicotine in marijuana, …and your baby will be fine. My son is 17 months old, my girlfriend smoked marijuana regularly until a week before birth and we have had no complications. multivitamins maybe? The THC in your body wont make a difference with your baby's health, and again, NO NICOTINE IN MARIJUANA. . thats exactly right there is no harmfull chemicals in marijuana that will hurt your baby you have nothing to be worrying about (MORE)
Babies born after 22 weeks have a great chance of surviving, the earliest baby to survive in the UK was 21 weeks. So nearly all baby's that are born at 31 weeks live, although there is that small percentage that don't but this is unlikely if the pregnancy has been fine and healthy all through the re…st of the pregnancy. I had a baby girl and she was born at 31 weeks and is absolutely fine although she did only weigh 3oz 8. and had to stay in neonatal unit for 3 weeks (just to gain weight) I hope this answered you question thanks (MORE)
Don't think so. From week 24 they can be saved, but w20 is awfully early. As NICU care has improved over the last 40 years, viability has reduced to approximately 24 weeks, although rare survivors have been documented as early as 21 weeks. The first thing survival will depend on is being in the …right hospital for the birth - after that it depends entirely on the number of complications following birth and how well the baby pulls through each of them. I have a friend who had her son at 24 weeks. He was 1.5lbs. He's home now and 7.5lbs with no problems. Every baby is different though. She was very lucky with her son.
About 2.6 million babies are born in the world each week and about 1 million people die.
Your baby would probably be OK, although might need to go in an incubator for a little while and might need a bit of help breathing
i dont think it can HURT your baby as such, but no doubt it will sence that you are stressed!
if the lungs are developed then it will be ok but it may need some help breathing if they are not
In the UK - which currently has the highest incidence of pre-term births in Europe - around 7% of births occur before 37 weeks, with 98% of these being after the 32nd week. But for a mother who has experienced a previous pre-term birth the likelihood of early delivery rises to 21.3% Statistics… will vary from country to country. (MORE)
You may be having multiples, or a larger than average child.. Check with doctor for gestational diabeties, as this causes large babys. prepare for 8 lbs or more.
well yea, cause when my baby brother was 6 months he weighed like 20 pounds so yes its okay.
It wont be something wrong with it because it's born after 42 weeks instead of 40. Might be bigger that's all. Most women go over the expected date.
The baby weighs slightly over 5 pounds, which is a little on the small side for 38 weeks but as long as s/he is continuing to gain weight in the womb, that is fine. You may just make small babies that are 100% fine. Even the best scans at this point is estimating the size of the baby and it happen…s frequently that the baby may be 2 or more pounds heavier than the scan shows. If you have any risk factors such as smoking or alcohol the baby may be on the small side due to a placenta that is feeling the strain. Keep in close contact with you doctor if this is the case. not everyone have the same symptoms. a friend of mine had no symptoms, not even a missed period until she was 4 months along so if you only symptom is tiredness count you blessings
A baby can be born at 18 weeks. However, he/she would not live. The earliest a baby could survive outside the womb is 21 weeks, and this is very, very rare.
I'm guessing that you mean at 44weeks gestation - i.e. a month 'overdue'. While it's not common for caregivers to be comfortable witha woman continuing beyond 41-42 weeks gestation, due to fears of the placenta becoming less efficient and potentially compromising baby's well-being, it is a woman's c…hoice whether to be medically induced or not. There are certainly historical cases of woman carrying babies well beyond their due dates. Another thing to consider is whether the woman's normal menstrual cycle is particularly long (the average is 28 days) - if so this will have affected the conception date, and therefore while her official due date calculated by her last period may in fact be a couple of weeks out... so that 44 week baby may in fact be right on time! This is particularly relevant if the woman chose not to have an ultrasoun scan during the pregnancy, which provides information on dating the pregnancy. Good luck! (MORE)

your baby sleeps 90 to 95 percent of the time. he/she might move when you're asleep!
Well depends on wat ur having mi daughter was at 160-170 which is good and both mi boys were 150-160 which is also good as long as it don't get below 130 ok
Go and see a qualified medical practitioner (a doctor) about your baby, the Internet is not the place to get advice because to be properly treated you need to be examined first.
One of the most common causes of premature birth is that the mother has pre-eclampsia, the only way to cure it is by delivering the baby. The mother or baby may have an infection which triggers premature labor. The cervix can open slightly and allow the waters to break, so an open pathway for infe…ction means the baby has to be delivered. The baby may have a condition which can only be treated once it is born, or the treatment may trigger premature labor. In a multiple pregnancy babies often just run out of room and have to be delivered, also a multiple pregnancy may trigger pre-eclampsia. Often no one knows is the answer. (MORE)
Spotting at 25 weeks is alarming.Call your doctor asap and have yourself check.Bedrest is advisable, no toilet privileges, no coitus and etc.
Yes absoloutly. Its very unlikely that a woman ever goes exactly on her due date. Babies born in week 37 or earlier are classed as premature, so a baby born a day earlier than 39 weeks is more or less classed as full term and will be as well developed as a baby born at 40 weeks gestation
In 2011, babies were born on all days of the week and every day of the year.
