∙ 14y agoPure or distilled water such as most rain water will not conduct electricity, but that is only true if it has not come in contact with impurities that are conductive. If you have water on your floor and an electrical charge such as a naked hot wire from your house electrical system falls into it, you will be harmed or killed if you touch the water. At this time it is not about how clean the water is, but how clean your floor is. Most contaminates and minerals make pure water conductive on a microscopic level and therefore, electrons will have a walk way to get from where they are to where you are. Something as simple as placing baking soda or salt in pure distilled water will make a lethal combination when you add electricity. Hope this helps.
