What would you like to do?
Answer No. Being pregnant/having a child does not emancipate a person. Until the age of 18, one is a minor and their parents have the authority to decide where …the minor can/can't live. If you leave home without your parents' permission, then you are considered to be a runaway and your parents can have you picked up by the authorities and returned home. Under Michigan law, your boyfriend could be, and likely would be, charged with harboring a runaway (punishable by up to 1 year in jail), and possibly other charges as well along the lines of interference with child custody. Michigan does allow persons 16 and older to petition the court for emancipation. In order for emancipation to be granted you would have to prove, among other things, that you are capable of fully supporting yourself and your child (rent, utilities, food, etc) *without any assistance* (note: they would likely consider child support to be legitimate income and not a form of assistance). Although Michigan statue does not state so, most judges would also require that you remain in school. Your parents would be notified of the hearing and they would be allowed to contest the emancipation. You would have to prove to the court that it's truly in your best interest to live on your own. That's not always an easy thing to do, and you would have to have legitimate, valid reasons. Just not getting along with your parents or wanting more freedom is not going to be enough. Please note that the purpose of emancipation is to allow a mature teenager to live *on their own* No judge is going to emancipate a teenager for the purpose of living with her boyfriend. Can parents press charges if you're 16 and your boyfriend is 17 and you're 4 months pregnant and you plan on getting married soon so you can move in with him and his family and is it legal in New York?
Answer . The age of sexual consent in New York State is 17, therefore the parent(s) would be able to take action on behalf of their minor child. Those actions can include …filing a report with authorities pertaining to the sexual relationship which has resulted in pregnancy and therefore cannot be denied. It would be up to the PA's office as to what if any action would be taken against the seventeen years old. The parents also have the option of using civil codes to obtain restitution for medical costs due to the pregnancy and care of the infant incurred and so forth. N.Y. does not have exceptions for pregnant minors in the marriage codes, a 16 years old pregnant or not must have the permission of both (or the custodial) parent(s) or legal guardian. . answer . If you're 16 and have a six-month-old baby and you're pregnant again can you marry your 18-year-old boyfriend in ANY state without your parents' approval?
Answer . \nThere are three states that allow a pregnant minor who is at least 16-years-old to marry without parental consent; those states are Maryland, Georgia and Florida…. Each state requires that a notarized statement from a physician licensed in said state attesting to the validity of the pregnancy be submitted at the time of the license application. Each state also has specific requirements as to proof of identity, residency and other issues.

What should you do if you're 16 and think you're pregnant and you and your boyfriend want to keep the child and get married and housing isn't a problem but your parents are doing something illegal?
Answer Who's parents his, yours, our you and the babies father? Need more detail, however in general it is never a good plan to bring an innocent child into a home wher…e illegal activities are going on it is hazardous to the child. Answer - There's a two fold problem here. (06/13/09) Your child deserves an intact family, but how long will it remain intact? Do you want to gamble with the chances you will end alone with the child, or that you give the child to the father and leave? The chances of this are substantial. Over 85% of all divorces involve people who married or lived together prior to age 24. Biologically, this is when females reach full mature on the physical, emotional, and hormonal levels. At this point, a woman is fully prepared to have and handle children, as well as a male that is still not fully mature. Males don't reach full physical and hormonal maturity until age 30. This is also when they reach their peak emotional maturity, but not to the point of being fully independent. Half of the male emotional health comes from a woman. The biochemical frequency range of the male brain adjusts itself to match that of the female, developing an emotional symbiotic relationship. Couples who begin cohabiting and/or get married prior to age 24 can find themselves drawing away from each other as each reaches full maturity. Their whole view of the world, and each other, changes. This doesn't happen to all couples, but clearly it is a factor in most relationship breakdowns. Rutgers University Study - Should We Live Together? Cohabiting couples breakup three times more than married couples. Cohabiting couples that later marry have a 46% higher rate of divorce than those who did not cohabit prior to marriage. What should you do if you're 16 and your boyfriend is 26 and your parents just found out you're dating and have forbidden you to see or talk to him?
Answer You have no choice but to listen to them. They are your legal guardians until you are 18. If you continue to see him, they can put a restraining order on him and… have him put in jail if it is violated. You must be very careful with this situation, you are walking a thin line.

Answer . If your parents give you permission. If they don't, no, you may not leave home.
What do you do if you are under 16 and your boyfriend is 18 and you think that you're pregnant but you don't know for sure and your parents have no idea about any of it and you turn out to be pregnant?
If you can't personally go to the store to buy a pregnancy test, try to get your boyfriend or a friend to go to the store for you to buy the test. Before jumping to conc…lusions, you have to be sure whether you are pregnant or not. This will be a scary moment, trust me. But, if it turns out that you are, you and your boyfriend have some serious talking to do, but mostly you have some serious thinking to do. You can decide whether or not to have an abortion, keep the baby and give the infant for adoption, or keep the baby. There are many avenues you can turn to. If you decide to keep the baby, the Department of Social Services and the Public Health Department can help you. But, you're going to have to dig deep down inside to find some courage to talk to your parents. If you live with them and they are supporting you, your parents should know if their daughter is pregnant. If it turns out that you're not pregnant, you don't have to tell your parents anything, but start using birth control and using condoms to prevent an unexpected baby. See it as a warning. I hope everything works out for you and good luck.
She will be hurt and upset as you are leaving and to her your leaving her. You HAVE to tell your parents because you can't handle this problem alone!
Your probably pregnant or else he wants you to become Pregnant Your boyfriend's dreams express HIS own thoughts and emotions. He might want to have a baby with you, or, depe…nding on the sort of dream he had, he might be worried about that possibility. It is possible for the changes that would occur in your body when pregnant to affect YOUR dreams and provide early notice of pregnancy. But your hormones cannot influence anyone else's dreams - not even your boyfriend's. If you are sexually active and have any doubts, get a pregnancy test.
Just tell them! They're your parents, they should understand by now that you're old enough to move in with you boyfriend. But if your parents are super strict and you're sure …that they won't approve of it, then forget about it.
