If you're 36 weeks pregnant and you took castor oil and now your contractions are 5 minutes apart when should you go to the doctor?
Call the hospital now! If they are constantly 5 minutes apart you need to get there ASAP! Even if it's false labor it's still hard false labor--and they will either want to go ahead and let you have the baby or they will try stopping your contrations. It's not a good idea to drink castor oil at 36 weeks because your due date could have been slightly off by a week or two, as not all babies develop the same in the womb. But since the deed is done, call now! Don't even read this! Get off of the computer and call! :) Answer Now!!

If you are 35 weeks' pregnant and 1 cm dilated and about 40 percent effaced and having strong contractions would taking castor oil help move things along?
At 35 weeks why would you want to hurry things along? You will birth a preemie with complications if you deliver now. It is unsafe to induce or encourage labor before 39 weeks unless you have specific medical complications that make continuing the pregnancy unsafe.
Are you having a miscarriage if you're almost 8 weeks pregnant and you have been bleeding for two weeks now and you went to the doctor last week and your cervix is still closed?
If your cervix is closed then this isn't a miscarriage. Your cervix usually opens during a miscarriage to expell the fetus. I would go to your gynocologist or local hospital and have a scan and internal examination to find out about your pregnancy. Also have a blood test that measures the amount of …HCG in your blood to see if the HCG is decreasing instead of increasing. Usually if the cervix is closed it is a good sign however my cervix was closed at 8 weeks and i had very very light spotting and after an ultrasound at 9 weeks, 4 days later my baby had died. you need to go straight to the doctor or hospital if you have any bleed at all. Although castor oil doesn't always work, when and IF it does,it will usually take between 6-8 hours to start contractions. Thediarrehea usually lasts 3-6 hours. If it's been longer than that, chances are you'll just have a really sore bum that will be in direneed of a tucks pad. . This is an old …wives tale that this will work. My sister didthe same thing, she drank that and even walked and walked no labor. The one thing that it can do is make your baby have a bowelmovement while your baby is still inside and this will make him orher very sick. I would consult your doctor about this. . Castor oil does not work, but neither does it make your babypoo. It may be taken by someone who is overdue and babies who areoverdue are more likely to have their bowels open. . Caster oil CAN work, by giving you diarrhoea - which irritatesthe smooth muscle lining your intestines, which in turn irritatesyour nearby smooth muscle in your womb, and starting contractions. It does NOT always succeed in starting labour, and may only giveyou horrible diarrhoea, so I wouldn't suggest you try it - but itsounds a bit late for that. If you were around 4 weeks pregnant when you had a miscarriage should you go to the doctor even though a small sac already came out but you're still bleeding?
Answer . As long as the bleeding and/or cramps are no worse than a bad period you should be all right. Of course if you are at all worried goto the doctor or emergency department.
Answer . Yes!\n. \nBy doing a blood test, a doctor can tell your pregnant 2 days after conception, which would happen about 6-10 days after unprotected sex.
I'm 36 wks. I took 4oz of castor oil last night at 930 it's been 12 hours. I was on the toilet all night but no contractions. is there a chance it will still work how long before i go in labor?
Too soon . Although there is little scientific, peer-reviewed data to support the claim that castor oil can hasten the onset of labor, there is plenty of anecdotal information that it does. Many childbirth professionals attest to its efficacy. However, inducing labor is not something to do befo…re week 40. I understand that you want to get the show on the road, but you're rushing things. (MORE)
You are 38 weeks pregnant and the doctor was going to strip your membranes today but couldn't because the baby is still too high Will castor oil help get things going?
Answer . This is an extemely delicate time of your prenancy so unless the doctor says otherwise wait! DON'T TAKE ANYTHING ON YOUR OWN! The doctor will have you come in for more frequent check-ups.

I WOULD GO TO HOSPITAL AND TELL THEM WHAT IS GOING ON OR YOU MAY GE GOING IN TO EARLY LABOR\nYOU SHOULD REALLY SEE A DOCTOR YOU LIFE IS WORTH MORE THAN JUST SITTING THERE TO WAIT AND SEE WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT IT MAY BE TOO LATE IF YOU WAIT TOO LONG=PLEASE GO TO EMERGENCY… AT THE HOSPITAL \n. \nGOOD LUCK WITH YOUR NEW BABY BOY (MORE)
You are 36 weeks and been contracting now since 31 weekswas in labor at 31 do you think castor oil will work for me doc says its safe to have baby now i am tired of hurting what would you do?
Answer . I tried that with my first child. I don't suggest it. I didn't go into labor, but I crapped myself silly!\nTry pinching your nipples, or getting your man to do it. That releases hormones into your system that will trigger labor. I'm not saying it will work every time, but that's how I i…nduced my labor with my last child. (MORE)
I am 36 weeks with a baby that's already 6.5 lbs i am miserable. my doctor sucks and the past 3 days ive been having contractions nothing real is it safe for the baby to take castor oil?
Answer . It's not uncommon for some women to feel pretty uncomfortable when this far along in pregnancy and just want it over with. Most doctors will give up to 2 weeks past the due date to be on the safe side, so try to hang on for that extra 2 weeks. If nothing happens after that then talk t…o your doctor and I'm sure he'll induce labor. \n. \nTake care of yourself and nix the castor oil! As miserable as you feel you want a healthy baby. There is an old way of bringing on labor and it's safe and it's lightly scrubbing the kitchen floor! No kidding! Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. DON'T ingest anything to bring on your baby.\n. \nAn early Congratulations!. Answer . the baby will come when it's ready to come all caster oil will do is give you a bad case of diarreha (MORE)
Castor oil was used to induce labour for many years by UK midwives. However, results were pretty varied. The castor oil method works by stimulating your bowel, which, in theory, should stimulate your cervix due to it's close proximity. The castor oil WILL cause diahorrea and possibly abdominal c…ramping and you must be prepared to deal with this. The best way to take castor oil is to mix it with orange juice to mask the taste. You should start with 2 tablespoons of oil in a glass of juice. You can up the dosage to around 6 tbsp safely but be aware that the more you use the more dramatic the diahorrea! As a response to the answer below, it has not been proven that walking will start labour. It may speed up labour once labour has started but it will not start labour. Labour may last from a few hours to a couple of days so it is definitely not a wise move to make yourself too tired beforehand. Answer It is a myth that castor oil starts your labour. The only medically proven "wives tale" is sex and walking. Semen has been found to have dilatory properties on the cervix (ie the cervix will dilate slightly and you may go into labour). Otherwise walking can start your labour. I know you want that baby out of there, but consider what is best for him. You will go into labour when he is ready. Be patient. (MORE)

You have been wondering about this you go to the doctors Tuesday to find out but you are just wondering right now you just found out that you are pregnant you took 5 tests all pos and you went to the?
Answer . Answer. There is no way we can answer your question as you haven't asked one, with the possible exception that if you had 5 positives, then likely you are pregnant.
You will not go in labor normally at 32 weeks of pregnancy, when you take Castor oil. But then this is not universally true. So you do not give such a brisk purgative to the pregnant woman, at this stage of pregnancy.
Castor oil is contraindicated during pregnancy. You will be given some gentle and safe purgative by your physician.
I am 35 weeks into the pregnancy. I was having regular and painful contractions 3 to 5 minutes apart for 6 hours when they stopped. What is happening?
You could be having what they call braxton hicks contractions...this is your uterus preparing for your baby to be born...Congrats on your pregnancy!. Or you could be going in to Labor!
ya it is fine i just got home from my doctors and i am over due she set me a date to induce but said that it would be fine to drink castor oil 3 or 4tblspoons of it cuz nothing is happening 4 me my cervix is 100% but other then that nuthin
Congratulations on your pregnancy.. Don't use castor oil to try and induce labor as the side effects are not worth it, plus there isn't any actual proof that is will work.. If you are looking for safe and effective, painless way to induce labor at home then maternity acupressure may be for you.. …Check out this website, http://yourmaternityresource.com/category/maternityacupreesure/. I bought the book, only $29 and it worked great, well worth the cost of the book.. I was 41 weeks along, the best part it actually helped reduce the pain of labor and it was well worth the cost of the book to finally meet my beautiful baby boy. I would suggest that you check with your OB/GYN before trying to induce labor at only 39 weeks though. (MORE)
No it will not induce you if you are not dilated first. I tried it at 36 weeks and nothing happened, not even the runs. ("Thank god) I am 37 weeks on Tuesday and am now dilated 1 and 50% effaced. So I just took 2 tablespoons of the castor oil. It has only been a hour but so far nothing has happened.… I am crossing my fingers though. (MORE)
About the time the explosive diarrhea begin. Taking castor oil does not always work and it increases the risk to you and the baby. it might not be anything bad, but it is better to be safe than sorry, so go...
, I am 40 weeks in on the 30th so only two days to go and have only JUST thought and looked up castor oil, I would definitely read up on it because at 36 weeks your baby is not ready otherwise pregnancy would only be for 36 weeks. If there is something wrong the doctor will talk to you about your …options and you might definitely likely look at ANOTHER way to bring on the labor, but castor oil... it is disgusting!!! took it yesterday and has not done anything for me other than make me vomit and feel tired... It may work for you but to be HONEST I really wouldn't be selfish and take the castor oil, your lil one will come when they are ready to come... You can cause fetal distress and more... and is not recommended unless you have spoken to your midwife... at the stage you are at I have heard of a product called Pre-Birth which you can get at any Health Pharmacy, once again look it up but it is used earlier on and later in your pregnancy your midwife can do what is known as a stretch and sweep to help you along, but just ask them about it at your next appointment... All the best :) (MORE)
I gave birth at 37 weeks after 51 days of contractions, of wich i only felt half And they said that the body was probably just tired from all that had been going on. You are having a baby and that costs a lot of energy from your body Talk to a doctor though, since i am not one
You are 36 weeks pregnant with contractions for 2 weeks that are 4 minutes apart but aren't intense enough not dilated Should you try castor oil?
No, castor oil is a laxative and could make things worse. You need to discuss this with your doctor.
It most likely will not. You do not need to induce labor before 40 weeks without a sound, medical reason. If the baby were to arrive early on its own, that is a different matter, but trying to induce labor before the baby is ready or "fully cooked" could have dire consequences on the baby and possib…ly the mother's health as well. I know it's miserable being 9 months pregnant, but it's best to let nature do its own thing, our bodies know more about this than we do. Besides, castor oil doesn't always work and you will end up dehydrated because castor oil WILL induce vomitting, diarrhea, nausea, and intestinal cramping. Sounds like a lot of fun doesn't it? Especially when you're still pregnant at the end of it. (MORE)
Is it normal to have braxton-hicks contractions for 2 hours at a time about 2 to 5 minutes apart when your 32 weeks pregnant and you have lower back pain and pressure in your pelvis?
when you start feeling pelvic pressure and your contractions are that regular, that usually means that you're in true labor and you need to call your doctor to let him know and he will tell you what to do from there. hope this answer helped, good luck and congratulations!!!
Is it normal to have braxton-hicks contractions for 2 hours at a time about 2 to 5 minutes apart when your 32 weeks pregnant?
Yes!!! HOWEVER at 32 weeks they say that you should contact your OB (no matter what time it is) if you are having contraction every 6 min or less (regardless is they are always the same distance apart) or is you have more then 8 in an hour! Though more than likely all is well, it is alwaysbetter to …be safe than sorry. Also try drinking 8 ounces of water (not soda or caffenated drinks, must be water) if that doesn't help try drinking another 8 ounces since being a little dehydrated can start contractions. If they stop on there own and you do not call the doctor after hours, be sure to inform your doctor the next day. (MORE)
Is it normal to have yellowish discharge at 37 weeks and have contractions every 3 to 5 minutes apart but are not painfull?
well, yes it is normal, that discharge might be your "mucus plug" and yes that sounds to me like labor, sometimes women can have a painless birth with out the help of local anasthtics and your DR. might have to give you a med. to feel the pain so that you are able to helb your child.good luck.
Of course you should. Although you may think you know everything about pregnancies you should always go when you find out. Not all pregnancies are the same so something could go wrong at any poing without notice.
Once you know you are pregnant you should set up an appointment with your doctor. From there your doctor will tell you when you need to come in for your pregnancy. In the beginning you go once every few weeks, as you get closer so does the doctor visits from each other.
You are about 5 weeks pregnant and had since yesterday brown spotting not a lot but it is there should you consider going to the Doctor seeing as this is your first pregnancy?
Spotting is common, especially early in pregnancy. I would still recommend seeing a doctor just in case.
No. If only 35 weeks pregnant, your cervix will not be ripened enough to allow true labor to begin. Will cause you lots of diarrhea and cramps, possibly back pain as well. Castor oil is know to work best after 37 weeks gestation and a ripened cervix.
I am a 36 mother of 4 i think i am pregnant i last saw my periods last month at the beginning of the month so can i drink castor trouble bring it down Answer Castor oil in a limited dose will help with constipation, not anything else. Take a pregnancy test and visit your doctor if you are pregn…ant. (MORE)
you should never take it out yourself. you could of perforated your uterus on top of everything else. You may be ok but i recommend you see a doctor
No, because if you drink Castor Oil during an early development stage you may harm the baby .The harm happens because drinking Castor Oil causes diarrhea Which may cause your baby to have a bowl movement in the womb.
Uhm, a doctor can answer this question the best so it would be smart if you just go visit the doc to be safe and secured anyways :)
Im 34 weeks pregnant had the celestone for thebaby's lungs and baby weighs 5 pounds is it safe to take castor oil?
I don't see how it could be safe to take castor oil, isn't it a laxative? It could cause cramps, and induce labor..you should talk to you obgyn before taking anything.
more than likely nothing it will just make you poop, because your body is not ready to have the baby yet,and you will cramp really bad don't try it
Im 34 weeks pregnant and having contraction every 5 to 10 minutes apart but not dilated Will you go into labor soon?
Have you spoken to your doctor, obstetrician or midwife about this yet? If not, I really advice phoning them or going to the hospital because your contractions are pretty close together. It is possible that these could still be Braxton Hicks contractions. But they could be the start of labour. It's …important to get checked out. (MORE)
Castor oil does not give you contractions directly, it gives you diarrhea. Those cramps are believed to sometimes bring on labor but usually it's just you sitting on the toilet with the runs. So stay away from the oil. 36 weeks you are not even fullterm yet and the baby can have problems.
None. You are too early to be induced. The baby is working on his lungs.
It is possible that it will start labor, but it isn't recommended because it can also cause severe diarrhea, which could sput stress on the baby.
