If this is a reference to the first chapter of Job, then it has to do with the angels. It also mentions that Satan was among them, as he still has access to heaven until the time he is expelled.

The expression 'sons of God' is used a few times in Job.
I will use one example: Job 38:7
While most translations use the expression 'sons of god'; by comparing with other translations it helps clear up who these might be.
Following are some other translations:
CEB reads: "while the morning stars sang in unison; and all the divine beings shouted?"
GNT calls them: "heavenly beings"
CEV; ERV; MSG; NCV; NIRV; NLT; TNIV simply calls them: "angels".
Satan is included among the "sons of God," for example Job 1:6: "Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them." Since Satan was the angel responsible to God for testing the righteousness of the faithful, the spiritual beings called sons of God must also have been angels in this book.
His sons are not named (Job ch.1 and ch.42).

The bible does not tell us how many sons he had, only that he became the father of the Ishmaelites, a wandering race of people. According to the Bible, Ishmael had 12 sons who became twelve tribal chiefs. 13And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam, 14And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa, 15Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah: 16These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations.
The Bible never mentions their names, only the names of their sons born to them.
Noah had three sons in the bible.
