Best Answer

St. Elizabeth (of Hungary) was born in Hungary, yet was betrothed to Hermann of the Court of Thuringia. She was a pius child who lived in the Thuringian court in Wartburg Castle near Eisenach

She is not to be confused with Elizabeth of Portugal.
