Is 130 pounds a normal weight for a 5' 3 12-year-old girl and how can you lose weight fast?
- 130 lbs is perfectly normal. You will stretch out over the years. I was 200 lbs and 5'3 in Dec. of '94 when I was 12. Because of problems caused by the obesity, I walked 4 out of 7 days and ate right. (6 meals a day alternating with foods from each food group, 1 serving being the size of your palm, accompanied by 4 Liters of water daily). By keeping this routine, I was able to lose 70 lbs in 7 months. By the start of the next school year I was your weight and 5'4. You are perfectly within your range, and don't ever let somebody tell you otherwise. Super skinny is not beautiful.
- If you ever think that you need to lose weight never try to lose weight "fast". When anyone gains weight, it goes on slowly over time, slowly stretching your skin. People who lose weight very quickly, end up with sagging wrinkled skin. Anyone who wants to lose weight needs to decrease the calories they consume, and increase the calories that they burn, by increasing their activity; walking instead of riding, bike, hike, play outside instead of in front of the T.V. or on the computer. Exercise not only burns calories, but also firms and tones your muscles. It really is quite a simple equation: CONSUME LESS==BURN MORE; works every time! HOWEVER, at your age you DON'T need to lose weight. You are perfectly fine. And don't forget, you are still growing.
- 12 years old is not an age where you need to lose weight. It sounds like you're perfectly fine, and unless your doctor mentions something, you're going to be okay.
- My cousin is a nutritionist and unless you are extremely athletic then you are alright.
- I am a personal trainer and you weight is perfectly within normal limits. People are built differently and therefore, you will weigh differently at the same ages. My sister and I were 30 pounds apart at the same age. One of us was very slender with little muscle and the other was very athletic and muscular. We both looked fantastic! You are perfectly within normal limits. As you hit your late teens, you will more than likely thin out even more. Muscle does play a factor in how much you weigh. Some folks are so muscular that their weight actually puts them in a category of obesity, even though they are very much in shape. I would suggest making a lifestyle plan for yourself now...get a good start on it. Be smart about your food choices, portion sizes, and physical activity. If you start this habit now, it will follow you through life. Whatever you do, don't let other people tell you how to feel about yourself and definitely don't do anything desperate to lose weight. Nothing is worth the tole it takes on your body.

If you weigh 170 pounds and are 5' 3 how fast will you lose weight if you eat only 500 calories a day?
Answer: the best way... don't starve your body. if you do that, then you start eating more, your body will store fat as insurance against the next time you starve it. THIS CAN MAKE YOU FATTER LATER!!! Plus, you will only lose a couple fatty pound in 3 to 4 weeks. The best thing to do is avoid fast …food altogether for 5 weeks. Instead, make sure to eat all natural, healthy food and regular small meals. Make sure to include some protein (i.e. eggs or peanut butter) in your breakfast, your body uses this most for fuel. Include fruit with your lunch, every little bit helps. Instead of snacking on chips and cookies, choose veggie baked crackers or an apple or other favorite fruit. This will keep you fuller longer and has less fat in than the other stuff. For dinner, you want to make the serving sizes small unless you plan to go exercise right after dinner. Make sure to include each of the basics: pasta or rice, sauce (like alfredo or pesto), veggies, and meat. (eating fried stuff will make weight harder to lose) Finally, pick three regular exercise days per week and reserve 20 minutes for each workout. I chose winsor pilates because it is low impact, but you may choose any routine you are comfortable with. 20 minutes each, three times a week is all you need, though if you wish, you may do more days per week. Don't overstress yourself by doning more than 20 minutes at a time. You will get tired and have more cravings if you do. The cure for cravings: allow yourself to have it, but only a small amount. You just have to exercise self control. Control your craving, don't let it control you. This method takes some dedication, but you will be more likely to keep the weight off. This is what I did and I have three children and I still wear a size 6-8. Answer Probably very quickly but 500 calories is way too low. You will be literally starving yourself which can lead to problems worse than your weight. You might try a 1000 to 1200 calorie diet that is low in fat. Make sure you read labels and avoid saturated fats. For example, 1 (one) frozen burrito has more fat than you should eat in two days. Eat smart and be aware of what and how much you eat. I tried the six very small meals a day (1200 calories)diet and I lost about 15 pounds in 2 months and I wasn't at all hungry. Also, if you are a very active person, you may need more calories to maintain your energy. If you are not active, you may try walking or low impact excercises to help with weight loss . Good Luck:) Answer i eat 400-500 cals a day. (well im bulimic but please don't throw up this meal u need it) to help control myself from binging, i don't think about eating or any kind of food. chew a lot of sugar-free minty gums (only like 5 cals). They keep u full and make u feel like u r eating a snack. And sleep a LOT. this makes the day go by quicker and keeps u away frm the kitchen. I lose about 15-18 lbs. every 2 months by doing this. Depends on how much u exercise. (Exercise while u still have energy frm that meal) Answer In 1988, Oprah ate only 400-500 calories in liquid form per day for 4 months and lost 67 pounds, however, she also kept a staff with her at all times in case something should go wrong, and ended up in the hospital from passing out. She also gained 17 of those pounds back immediately after returning to a normal diet. My highest weight was 180 lbs (5'9"), and after eating 500-600 cals in HEALTHY foods every day, I was able to loose 10 pounds in about 3 weeks. Answer Look at your activity level. Some of us have efficient systems and so need to get the metabolism going so it works to use up the calories taken in every day. Take a 30 minute walk in the morning and do some other type of exercise in the afternoon/evening. Look up the diet for diabetics (very good explanation of carbs and protein), watch your portions and be sure to chew each and every bite of food thoroughly. There's no shortcuts that will really work for the long term unless you make these lifetime changes. Even if you lose 10 pounds you have come a long way to general health. ANSWER I'm 5'4 and my highest amount I've weighed was 180 lbs. I've found the best weight loss my joining the medifast diet. on my first week i lost 10 lbs and on my second I lost 7... no starving and it teaches meal size and about what foods are healthy to eat, plus gives you all the vitms. you need and more. Fastest and healthest way to loose weight I've ever treid. (MORE)
How much weight do you lose from fasting if you are 5 feet 6 inches and 165 pounds and have a normal metabolism?
Answer . In one week fast, You will lose 10 lbs, your metabolism will slow down to compensate the vanished calorie intake. And you will have to drink 8-10 glasses of water. It would be a good idea to eat a home made gelatin made from apple juice, when u are feeling weakest on 3rd day. You will co…ntinue losing weight on the 4th day, feeling very dizzy and slow to answer simple questions involving your long-term and short-term memory. Also, going to sleep early having drinking lots of water will keep the restlessness of hunger at bay.. Avoid television, and is important when coming off the fast, I would just suggest a 5 day fast. Stay away from white sugar in foods, it will not taste that great anyways if you try to eat a donut right away. Don't drink cold water, only drink water at room temperature, and don't drink a glass full of water before your meals when you start eating again. The water dilutes your digestive juices required to breakdown the food in the stomach, and your body will have a hard time digesting the food.. Walk lots when you come off your fast, and its important to maintain muscle strength during fast also. Muscle weighs more than fat, and you don't want to lose muscle on your fast!. Been there hon, and have been 130lbs for 10 years now. The answer is simple. Move!!! Burn more calories than you take in . So, make yourself very busy so that you are not sitting around bored and eating because there is nothing better to do. It is hard to exercise when you are big, so walk- a coupl…e miles or an hour a day- every day. You can eat whatever you want in moderation. Learn what a normal portion is. Try to keep your diet balanced. It took me a year and a half to lose 80 lbs. But, I have kept it off for 10 years. This is after battling my weight for 20 years! Answer . just cut down on junk food , and drink lots of water. But dont skip meals , as you will just put the weight back on wen you eat again
Answer . EVERY PERSON WILL LOSE A DIFFERENT AMOUNT OF WEIGHT BECAUSE EACH PERSON'S BODY RESPONDS DIFFERENTLY TO DIFFERENT STRESSORS.. Not as much weight as she'll gain back once she stops starving herself. When you fast, your body compensates by slowing down its metabolism in order to conserve e…nergy. This will continue for some time even after you begin eating again.. I have heard that but the funny thing is I am 20 years old 5'9 and used to weight 190 and I went into depression and didn't eat a whole lot and I lost 45 lbs and kept it off for a year and a half and i ate anything and everything and I am just barely gaining it back now and only like 15 lbs.... but like you said everybodys body is different I just know mine didnt go into starvation mode. Not that I am saying you should do that it wasn't a good idea and there are a lot of healthier ways to losing weight. I suggest weight watchers. That is really good and it really does become a way of life. You start to look at everything as points. (MORE)
It depends on the height. If she was fairly tall for her age then yes. If she was fairly short then no she is overweight.
No matter how much you weigh, the general idea for losing weight is to spend more energy (calories) than you eat. In other words, you have to eat less (and especially, less high-calory food), make more exercise, or - ideally - both.
It is just very important that 130 - 135 lbs girls get enough excersise and eat healthy
Most fad diets don't have great success rates in the long run. The simplest way to lose weight is to get more physical activity, and eat a healthy diet. Aim to eat more fruits and vegetables, and whole-grains instead of white bread. Cut out sodas, and drink lots of water. Candy and junk food like …chips or fries are also not good. Try to get 20-30 minutes of aerobic activity per day (activities that get your heart pumping and make your breathing faster). If you are really serious about losing weight, talk to your doctor and see if s/he can help you plan a way to lose weight that works well for you. Remember, you didn't get chubby overnight so you won't loose it overnight. Stick to it, drink lots of water and just walk a lot at first to get your breathing up there. If you don't' notice any change after a month of eating better and exercising, go see a doctor, you may have a health issue. Don't mess with the over the counter diet aids, they are horrible for your health and can damage your organs, that are still growing. Keep at it, find something active to do that's fun and keep moving, you will be where you want to be soon enough. Keep track of body mass as apposed to pounds. Body mass is more important to your health than a pant size. Don't be discouraged at first, just work at a healthier you. (MORE)
If you weigh 130 pounds, you may not need to lose weight, dependingon your height. However, if you want to lose weight, you need tocut out or eliminate processed foods and exercise.
thats exactly the same i am a heathy weight for 5'3 is 105-120 pounds depending on bone and water weight
The bigger you are the easier and the faster it is to lose weight, initially. You cannot lose all of the 213 pounds fast, however. As you lose weight, and get nearer to your target weight, your rate of weight loss will slow down. Do not give up at that point. Keep going! Just be prepared to accept t…hat it may take longer than you would like. That is the same for most people. You do not need to starve yourself. If you do, your body will go into starvation mode and hold on to body fat. Eat five or size very small meals per day rather than three larger ones. This will help you to avoid hunger and keep from cravings away. 130 pounds for a person who stands 5 feet 2 inches tall is normaland healthy. You would be considered overweight if you were at orabove 136 pounds.
well i would say a healthy weight would be between 114lbs, to 130 that's if you are 5'3 if you are taller weight may vary. ]]i hope this helps}]]]
I would say, first of all, cut out the sugar. Ask your mother if she could buy you sugar free products. Usually these products are still sweet, they're just made with an artificial sweetener. Then I would suggest drinking water instead of high calorie sodas or koolaid. Drink fat free milk instead of… whole milk. Watch the amount of food you're eatting (the portion size). Make sure that you eat dinner about 3-4 hours before you go to bed, and do not snack before you go to sleep, That's a no no. Try not to eat any desserts, they are usually extrememly high in fat calories. So, in a nut shell: Eat smaller portions, Drink water or flavored water, Don't eat past 4-5pm, Cut out as many sugars as possible. (MORE)
I am 14 years and 8 months old. I am 5' 5'' and I weigh 128 pounds....I don't really exercise all that much and I really don't diet like at all, but I do work with my dad alot during the summer in 100 degrees F in Texas. I think that is what keeps me from getting fat.. More input. There is no fair… average weight for any age group because weight is not just fat. There are many other factors that can affect weight such as bone density, bone mass, muscles, (which weigh a lot) and stuff like that. Just because you weigh a lot doesn't mean that you aren't skinny, but everyone whether they're skinny or overweight should try to make good food choices to either lose weight or stay skinny. Follow this rule: Eat only when you're hungry, until you're full, no more, no less. When you're growing, sometimes if you notice you feel hungrier than usual, make sure you eat because you could be on a growth spurt or something. Always make sure to eat breakfast because if you don't later in the day you will be hungry and more likely to make bad food choices. And make sure you do physical exercise too. Even just walking the dog will help. Run down the beach this summer or swim. Join a dance class or basketball team or go to the gym. When you're growing, sometimes if you look overweight it could just be temporary. People gain weight before they shoot up so if you think you're eating more than usual you could just be beginning a growth spurt. And for a 14 year old yeah, that weight sounds about normal. Just follow the tips above and you will be good to go. But stay away from foods like Cosmic Brownies or Ding Dongs or those mini cakes which are packed with fat. Eeew. Do not try to starve yourself or cut down on what you eat when you are still hungry. That is really totally bad for you because if you starve yourself, your body slows down its metabolism, the chemical that burns fat because it is tricked into thinking that you need to retain your weight in order to survive this food shortage. So when you do have to eat again, which you will in order to survive since you can't keep up starving yourself, you will just gain it all back real fast because your metabolism will be slowed. What a pain!. Another answer:. I don't think there really is a correct weight for girls our age. In fact, the 5% - 85% percentile is normal. I'm 5'3 and 89lbs but I have a friend (same age) and she is 5'7 and 130. So it really varies. I would check with your doctor.. Apparently to a teen BMI calculator, you are you are in the 80% Percentile, so you are average. A 5'3 fourteen year old can weigh anywhere from 90-131 lbs to be called "average" weight. So it's a difference of 40+ lbs! (MORE)
As a 5' 3" 40-year-old who weighs 190 pounds, you may be insulin resistant.. Many overweight people (particularly those who have frequently 'dieted' and lost weight only to regain it later) have insulin resistance . The majority of people who have insulin resistance are unaware of it.. If you f…eel that this may be your situation, a low calorie diet will not work for you. The best diet will be a low carbohydrate diet. Moreover, if your physician approves it first, the best low carbohydrate diet for a significantly overweight person is usually one that will put you in a state of benign dietary ketosis .. Recent excellent books on the subject are Protein Power , and The Protein Power Lifeplan , by Michael R. Eades, M.D., and Mary Dan Eades, M.D., and The X Factor Diet by Leslie Kenton.. (If you wish to read those books but do not want to buy them, you can borrow copies from your local library, or buy inexpensive used copies on eBay.). In my professional experience, most overweight people (and many normal weight people) are carbohydrate addicted . In fact, about 3 out of 4 British and North American adults are carbohydrate addicted. Unfortunately, the average daily carbohydrate intake of British and North American adults is about 300 grams. Even worse, most of those carbohydrates are refined (processed) carbohydrates .. You will find further details relating to all the above information, in the two related questions, further down this page, listed under "Related Questions." . The above suggestions, and the related page links, will help you to naturally speed up your metabolism. Naturally increasing metabolism AND maintaining it long term will enable you to lose weight and avoid future weight gain.. If you do decide to use this approach, buy or borrow the above-mentioned books. They will serve you well.. (MORE)
Is 130 pounds a normal weight for a 12-year-old girl who is 5'1 and how can you lose the weight quickly?
Sorry to break the news, but at age 12 you should be around 110-120 pounds, obviously depending on your height, but of course your height matches what I am talking about. Work on losing weight in safe ways. Like, exercising perhaps. Take your dog out for a walk. If you don't have a dog, do some crun…ches in the morning to scalp your abdominal shape. Then, boost leg muscle by taking a jog around the block or bicycling daily. You should be getting exercise at least 5 days a week. Never eat and then exercise right after, and don't exercise on an empty stomach either. Eat a healthy bowl of cereal or some fruits or veggies before exercising. Look forward to exercising and don't ever see it as a punishment. You can exercise with a sibling, parent, or even friend.. Also, a healthy diet is important. Write down what you eat and drink daily. Eating disorders such as bulimia or anorexia are tragic, and affect everyone around you- please don't turn to that.. You are definitely NOT obese or fat, or on a "diet." You are simply watching yourself.. What you must do is lose 1 or 2 pounds a week. No less and if more it CANNOT be like 5 pounds a week- that means you might be dealing with malnutrition, which is a terrible condition.. I study healthy ways in school, and I am sure you do too. Losing weight takes patience. If you want, try losing weight with a good buddy. A bad buddy will tell you mean things, so don't ask them, "Am I fat?" cause you're are not. You are around the average weight but are trying to watch yourself.. I believe you should lose up to 15 pounds, no more. Then, keep your steady diet with steady portions and you will be fit. You will have cravings during this period of time, but if you must spoil yourself do not finish the serving size, fruits are the best, and there are even some good tasting yogurts or jellos that help during weight loss!. GOOD LUCK!. Change your diet, try foods that are less fattening, and sometimes just choose good tasting healthful foods like fruits or yogurt etc. Try exercising in private if you're embarrassed, in your room before bed, in the house. Push yourself to the limit, and you will burn fat. Chances are at 10 ye…ars old, you're so far from being done growing that you may just get tall and remain the same weight. You may just even out. If you're exercising that much, you've probably got a fairly muscular build. \n. \nAt 5'4" and 130 pounds, you have a BMI of 22.3, which is smack-dab in the middle of the healthy range. Since you have a muscular build, you should ideally weigh a little more than what you do, for optimum health. \…n. \nThe best way to lose weight is to choose skinny grandparents. There is absolutely no reason for you to want to be thinner than you already are??? Why would you want to lose weight?; i am the same height and weight as you are and I am very slender and look good ??? You are fine the weight that you are ..losing more will make you look less attractive
Get involved in sports. Also I am a firm believer in portion control. I know a man that had the lap ban done and he lost over 80lbs, but its not the procedure that does it, cause I also know a woman that had the same procedure and she is back up to the weight she was at the beginning. He keeps the w…eight off by eating small portions of protein, veggies, carbs and fruit 4x a day. He takes vitamins to make up for the lack of food if he is exercising. Portion control, eating healthy, exercise, and determination "to stick to it" is truly all anyone needs to loose weight. Also once you reach your goal,( which will take longer that you want it to but don't give up.) but than you only need to exercise 3 times a week, eat healthy the majority of the time, but you can have set times when you might exercise more for an extra desert. Well I hope this helps. God Bless. (MORE)

It depends on how tall you are. As far as losing weight goes, the most effective method that I have found is keeping track of calories and limiting them. There are several apps that can help with tracking. My personal favorite in MY Fitness Pal - it is available as a website as well as Android and I…OS. A typical calorie restricted diet will be from 1200-1700 calories per day. Many people will start off at the higher end of that spectrum, gauge their results and adjust from there.
