it depends on what year and model, i am not sure but i know a few are. if your engine gets off timing, then it will damage the valves, which is a pain to fix but is possible. if your worried about this happening then replace the timing belt at 100,000 miles. its only about 50$ but will save you a lot more money, time and effort replacing valves and all the other seals that go with it
