Is Green Mountain Coffee Roasters coffee gluten free?
While coffee beans themself are gluten-free, it's possible that it's come in contact with gluten during processing. it All coffee is not guaranteed gluten-free. It is strongly recommended that you contact the brand company to specifically ask about cross-contamination or oils used to flavor the coffee. Some companies will dust their manufacturing lines with flour to keep the beans rolling along, and oils can have gluten in them. When in doubt, always contact the company.

It should say gluten-free on the product somewhere. If not try going to their corporate website or call them.
All coffee, regular and decaf, is naturally gluten-free. However, when it comes to the ingredients (usually hidden with words like "natural and artificial flavors") used to created the flavor, these are usually not gluten-free. I personally love flavored coffee and do not think adding a flavored cre…amer is not the same. So, I sent an email to my favorite coffee company to inquire. This is the email I received in return: Dear Ms. Cordell, Thank you for contacting The J.M. Smucker Company regarding our Millstone® coffee products. For over 110 years, consumer safety and product quality have been of paramount importance to our company. Coffee is not a source of gluten and our Millstone® roast and ground coffee items are produced in a dedicated facility where no other types of agricultural crops are handled or processed. However, due to the use of common equipment within the agricultural community to harvest, store and transport crops, our roast and ground products may contain trace amounts of grain-based ingredients. Additionally, our flavored coffee products may contain added ingredients that are not gluten free. Thank you again for your interest. We hope that you will continue to enjoy our products for years to come. If you should have further questions or need additional information, please visit us at www.millstone.com or contact us at 800-522-7894, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Sincerely, Jake Consumer Relations Representative Most responses from the coffee manufacturers will be the same - they mention the agricultural practices and cross contamination, which generally isn't a problem but keeps them from being able to claim their product is gluten-free. The real problem with the flavored coffees is the ingredients used to create the flavor. Until we are made aware of what those ingredients are and can verify if they are gluten-free or not, we have to assume they are not safe. If you have Celiac, you should avoid flavored coffees unless they state on their package they are gluten-free. Bummer. (MORE)
Cafe Bravo Coffee Roasting Company out of Temecula CA. They have a decent sized branded market, but about 30 million dollars in private labeling. It's interesting but they are so much bigger than they appear.
I have recently been diagnosed with Celiacs Disease, and have been looking a lot of things up on the internet about foods and drinks that are safe for someone like me. I was surprised to find that this question has not been answered. I would like to answer it. I believe it is safe to say that coffee… is NOT GLUTEN FREE! Due to the fact that most coffee contains barley, which does contain gluten, unless otherwise stated on the label. I would also like to share with all people that have Celiacs Disease or any allergic reaction to gluten that if you love coffee and would like to drink it, try Teeccino Mediterranean Herbal Coffee. It is 75% organic, gluten free and is caffiene free too. And it tastes DELICIOUS!!!! :) (MORE)
A growing body of research shows that coffee drinkers, compared to nondrinkers, are: . less likely to have type 2 diabetes, Parkinson's disease, and dementia . have fewer cases of certain cancers, heart rhythm problems, and strokes "There is certainly much more good news than bad news, in te…rms of coffee and health," says Frank Hu, MD, MPH, PhD, nutrition and epidemiology professor at the Harvard School of Public Health. But (you knew there would be a "but," didn't you?) coffee isn't proven to prevent those conditions. Researchers don't ask people to drink or skip coffee for the sake of science. Instead, they ask them about their coffee habits. Those studies can't show cause and effect. It's possible that coffee drinkers have other advantages, such as better diets, more exercise, or protective genes. So there isn't solid proof. But there are signs of potential health perks -- and a few cautions. If you're like the average American, who downed 416 8-ounce cups of coffee in 2009 (by the World Resources Institute's estimates), you might want to know what all that java is doing for you, or to you. No. The only reason gluten could be in coffee is if it has been contaminated with some other ingredient whilst being processed. My Aunt is a Coeliac (gluten allergy) and she lives on coffee because that is one of the things she is allowed to have.

There seems to be a dispute about vodka being gf, so when I make my coffee liqueur, I use potato vodka. My celiac daughter in law agrees. She is also a Doctor, so I think it's better to be super cautious about the grain alcohols.
All coffees are gluten free. There's a big push in the food advertising world today because people are aware of gluten. This push is misleading to the point of being a fabrication. In order to have gluten, there must be a leavened flour, such as wheat. Even where there's no wheat, advertisers wi…ll still claim no gluten, even when they know gluten is not possible. (MORE)
Regular coffee beans are gluten free as long as they wash their hands before touching the lid. otherwise, crumbs from their hands will contaminate the coffee. The problem is that sometimes the coffee beans can get contaminated depending on where they are kept, and how they are stored. This sometimes… happens before they even get to a coffee house like Starbucks. I do know that a lot of Starbucks carry Izzies which are gluten free but not coffee. I'd talk to the manager and avoid anything with vanilla. (MORE)

Gluten is a protein from the Endosperm of many grains, most commonly of which is Wheat. The coffee bean does not contain that protein. Gluten is not spread through contact like a virus and would take many grams of which to trigger a reaction is someone with a gluten intolerance.
Well, it's great for roasting, boiling (like peanuts), then ground or blended if boiled, add sugar and taste the real coffee seed. It is very high in caffeine when boiled and consumed.
