What European country is jersey in?

Answer The island of Jersey is part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island. AnswerJersey is actually one of a group of small islands called the Channel Islands which are situated in the English Channel, very near to Normandy, France. As an island, Jersey not strictly 'in' any particular country, other than to say that Jersey is one of the islands which are known collectively as 'The Channel Islands.'Although they are physically nearer to France than England, the Channel Islands (including Jersey) are politically/constitutionally designated as a 'Crown Dependency' of the United Kingdom. Although the Channel Islands are 'protected' by the United Kingdom they are neither part of the UK nor of the European Union (EU). The Channel Islands are geographically considered to part of The British Isles, which term is broadly used to refer to that group of islands off the north-west coast of Europe, comprised mainly of the island of Great Britain and the island of Ireland, together with smaller islands and island groups, such as The Isle of Man, The Isles of Scilly and The Channel Islands. Is there a country called Jersy?

Kind of, there is an island called Jersey in the Channel Islands just off England. Its a country, but last I checked its also part of England.==============================================================Jersey IS NOT part of England. The Bailiwick of Jersey (to give it its proper title) is a British Crown Dependency off the coast of France. Together with the Bailiwick of Guernsey, it forms the the Channel Islands. Like the Isle of Man, Jersey is a separate possession of the Crown and is NOT part of the United Kingdom. Unlike the U.K., Jersey is not a full-member state of the European Union although it is included in the customs territory of the European Community. Jersey has an international identity different from that of the UK, however under the British Nationality Act 1981, the islanders are British. The United Kingdom is constitutionally responsible for the defence of Jersey.
