Yes He is. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He is the God of the Old Testament. Under the direction of the Father He organized this world. It was He who made Adam and Eve from the dust of the earth. In this sense He is our Father. For all authority was given unto Him by the Father. ANSWER Jesus himself confirmed that his God was the God of Moses. At John 17:20, in speaking to Mary Magdalene, referred to her God as his God, when he said," I am ascending to my Father and your Father, my God and your God." So here, he refers to Mary's God as his God. Mary was a Jew. Moses was a Jew. Moses' God was the God of the Jews, Mary Magdalene, and Jesus. At Exodus chapter 6:3, this God, the Father, reveals himself as Jehovah Answer

This question is answered by determining our 'Origins' . In the creation account of the Old testament, God created everything:-

Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

(Read the rest of the Chapter 1 of Genesis for details:-

And God said, Let there be light: ... ... Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. ... Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear:... ..., Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: ...... , Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven...

... , Let the waters bring forth abundantly , and fowl that may fly above the earth... ,,, Let the earth bring forth the living creature ,,,, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth... ... Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:...And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.....

So, the God of Moses created everything.

Now go to the New Testament, and here the Word created everything:-

Joh 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Joh 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

So, there are two separate creators of this unique event?

Just who is this 'Word'?

Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Joh 1:17-18 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

The Word is Jesus Christ.

Jesus is called the Son of God, both at the start of His ministry, and after He was resurrected :- Joh 1:29 The next day John [the Baptist] seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Joh 1:35-37 Again the next day after John [the Baptist] stood, and two of his disciples; And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he [John the Baptist] saith, Behold the Lamb of God! And the two disciples heard himspeak, and they followed Jesus.

Joh 1:40-41 One of the two which heard John [the Baptist] speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He [Andrew] first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

Joh 1:43 The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.

Joh 1:45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saithunto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

Joh 1:48-49 Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him [Nathanael], Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee. Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

Joh 20:24-31 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.

The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him [Christ], My Lord and my God.

Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:

But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ [the awaited Messiah of the Old Testament] , the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Christ created everything - every single thing:-

Col 1:12-13 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

Col 1:14-18 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Christ said He was the 'I Am' of the Old Testament, and the Pharisees tried to stone Him for this:-

Joh 8:52-59 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself? Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God: Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying. Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

The Pharisees accused Christ of blasphemy for making Himself God - they knew exactly what this meant:-

Joh 10:30-33 I and my Father are one. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

Paul knew Christ is the God of the Old Testament:-

1Co 10:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the [Red] sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

Worship the Lord God only:-

Mat 4:8-10 Again, the devil [Satan] taketh him [Jesus Christ] up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me [Satan]. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Worship the Creator:- Rev 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

Don't worship angels:-

Rev 19:10 And I [John] fell at his [an angel - see Rev 18:1] feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not [ie worship angels]: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Don't worship fellow servants, prophets, other Christians, indeed anyone except God:-

Rev 22:8-9 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of [Christians]: them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

Do not even think of worshipping anyone other than God:-

Rev 22:8-9 My name is John, and I am the one who heard and saw these things. Then after I had heard and seen all this, I knelt down and began to worship at the feet of the angel who had shown it to me. But the angel said, Don't do that! I am a servant, just like you. I am the same as a follower or a prophet or anyone else who obeys what is written in this book. God is the one you should worship. [CEV version]

Jesus Christ IS the God of Moses and of us: He is both the [so-called] 'harsh' God of the Old Testament and the loving and forgiving God of the New Testament. Jesus was not a man who happened to worship a god, or became looked upon as a god: Jesus IS God. ----
