John Tyler is one of the most important men in the history of America. He was the only senator to stand up for states' right to nullification, with his sole "no" vote in the senate against the force bill of 1833. Later as president, he refused to reestablish the federal bank, vetoing two bills that came to him attempting to do so in 1841. Two things that are of monumental importance. The federal reserve and the fact that states do not currently exercise nullification measures are the root of all of the problems Americans face today with an overreaching federal government. If we end the fed and invoke nullification, the federal government loses its dictatorial powers.
