Judaism is an ethnic religion which accepts converts. Judaism does not active seek new converts, but will teach the sincere proselyte the path to conversion. Most conversions take about two years to complete, more or less.

The spiritual teachings of the Jewish Faith are the universal basis of of all the monotheist religions, but the rituals, dogmas and social practices of Jewish people are ethnic. The Christians, Muslims and Baha'is are believers in the spiritual teachings of this Faith, but do not apply the ethnic practices common amongst Jews.

The belief that the ancient, not-mixed with or watered down with Europeans, Hebrews, directly descended from Adam, the first man. Working with analogies here; visualize the entire human race, as one large family, and each of the different races of man, representing a child, within that family. Adam and Eve, are the mother and father of that family. As with all families, only one of the children, most ressembles the father, according to the Hebrews of the Old Testament, the semitic, full blooded Hebrews mind not the white people you see in Israel or New York today, anyway, accoding to the ancient Hebrews, the members, or the "child" of the human family that most ressembled the father, was the Hebrew people.

To maintain that semblance to the "first father," or the patriarch of the human race, the Hebrews were obligated to keep their bloodlines pure, neither men, nor women, were allowed to marry non-Hebrews. While the men had the perk that they could marry a woman that converted, and male converts were not allowed, it could not just be any woman; she had to be like Ruth. If a non-Hebrew woman was not like Ruth, then, she was not allowed to convert to Judaism, Ruth, was the "gold standard" of what type of woman could convert, and marry into the Hebrew people. Again male converts, were simply not allowed to allow it, would discontinue the paternal lineage going back to Jacob.

The purpose of maintaining that "similarity" to Adam, the first man, has an obvious explanation that does not take extensive theological analysis, although some have argued this before; having been formed by the hand of God himself, it stands to reason that the people most similar to the first man, have a closer link with God. Even within that group of people however, only one, and ONLY, one man, is EXACTLY like the first man, Adam. That man, carries the bloodline that will ultimately culminate in the Messiah; as Adam was there when this world began, the Messiah will be there, when this world ends.

At least, that was ancient Judaism; modern Judaism has been corrupted by the Talmud. Irreperably corrupted; again, Judaism is a semitic religion, and semitic culture is patriarchal, not matriarchal, the bloodline must lead back to Jacob or its not legitimate, having a Jewish mother does not make you Jewish, the woman herself is cherem for betraying her ancestor Jacob for one, and second, the resulting offspring, belongs to the group of people to whom the man belongs, but he or she, is not Hebrew, or Jewish. Additionally, gentiles do not exist to serve Jews; owing that everyone descends from Adam, the ancient Hebrews saw all human beings, as part of a large family, and worthy of equal respect.

To see the human race any other way, is corruption of the worst sort imagineable, and not true Judaism.

Gentiles do not exist to serve Jews; anyone who says that, is not Jewish, but a counterfit, a liar, a fraud.

It's not as multi-ethnic as Christianity, but the variations stem from the fact that Jews live all over the world.
