hello there, in my opinion, if you have a xbox live gold membership, Netflix, and zune memberships and a big living room with a decent size tv then yes you should buy kinect. Xbox live is launching a whole bunch of stuff this fall, live tv, YouTube, bing, and whole new games and with kiject you will have a better experience. either way, xbox is beating the play station with its better online gaming experience.
