There are at least parts of the Book of Mormon that are conspicuously untrue. For example the presence of horses in the Americas - presumably Joseph Smith or Moroni did not realise that the Spaniards introduced horses long after the time in whci the Book of Mormon is set.

∙ 15y agoYou should find out for yourself. read it and pray about it. Parts of the Book of Mormon are indeed true in that they are direct copies of the infallible Christian scriptures. Other parts which remain to be verified, and probably never will be, may be true in a more limited sense for any who wish to believe them, but not in an absolute sense.

∙ 13y agothe Book of Mormon is an outstanding book! its like a story bool. it tells you a whole bunch or different stories. unlike fairy tale stories these stories are real! it is a little harder to understand than other stories but if you ponder about it you will soon understand this amazing book.

∙ 11y agoThis depends on what you consider to be evidence. DNA testing has shown very little evidence. Archaeology has shown some evidence. Anthropology has shown some more convincing evidence, as some traditional legends match up with Book of Mormon stories.
Believers in the Book of Mormon do not claim the Book of Mormon is a scientific document and do not care if it can be proven by scientific means. The Book of Mormon is a religious text and should be proven true by faith alone. Believers follow a promise from the Book of Mormon itself, that states "When ye should recieve these things... ask God the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are true... and He wil manifest the truth of it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost." (Moroni 10:4) Their evidence for knowing the Book of Mormon is true is the feeling of confirmation and peace they recieve after studying and praying about the Book of Mormon.

∙ 9y agoWell, the answer you get for this will depend who you ask... If you ask a Mormon, he'll say it's true; most non-Mormons will probably consider it fictitious. (If somebody considered it true, he would most likely convert to Mormonism.) I am afraid you'll have to make up your own mind on this belief.

∙ 7y agoHaving read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover, I can attest that it is boring and repetitive. The author does not have an eloquent style of writing. However, if you wish to judge the Book of Mormon as good or otherwise on the basis of truth in its contents, then that is a matter of faith as there is no independent evidence for the historicity of the accounts described in the book.
