Where I live this is a little more complicated than you would think.
Police officers are under the law "Peace Officers"
There are several other Officers that are Peace Officers as well.
Rail Way police, Highway patrol, Truancy etc.
So you have to be careful because they have the same protection under the law as Police.
Don't punch or spit on one, it doesn't go well.
It depends on the policies and/or guidelines of the police department doing the hiring. Generally, these kind of charges will not prevent a police department from being able to hire you.
Truancy is the lack of attendance to a mandatory event, typically school. The student was truant from school yesterday. The truancy officer found the student behind the supermarket.
Generally, police have no authority to force someone go home. Exceptions include: Juvenile is a reported runaway (return to parent/guardian); Juvenile is absent from school (truancy).
no i dont think they have the power, maybe the police can.
Yes, police enforce the truancy laws. If you are clearly of school-age, they may stop and question you as to why you're not in school. If you have a doctors written AND SIGNED on his letterhead stationery or on a presciption form, in all likliehood, the officer will allow you to go on your way. If not, you will probably be taken to your school and turned over to them.
The possessive form of the noun police officer is police officer's.Example: The police officer's car blocked the escape of the suspect.
For the word Officer the abbreviation is "OFC." For Police Officer, the abbreviation is "P.O."
