A sport utility vehicle (SUV) is a generic marketing description for a vehicle similar to a station wagon but built on a light-truck chassis. Usually equipped with four-wheel drive for on or off-road ability, some SUVs include the towing capacity of a pickup truck with the passenger-carrying space of a minivan. SUVs are considered light trucks and often share the same platforms of pickups and thus are regulated less stringently than passenger cars under two major laws in the U.S.-the Energy Policy and Conservation Act for fuel economy standards, and the Clean Air Act for emissions standards It is known in some countries as an "off-road vehicle" or "four-wheel drive", often abbreviated to "4WD" or "4x4", pronounced "four-by-four". However, not all SUVs have four-wheel drive capabilities. Conversely, not all 4WD passenger vehicles are SUVs. Off-road vehicles are a very different class of vehicles, being vehicles primarily built for off-road use. However this distinction is often not made by the general public and in the media. Although some SUVs have off-road capabilities, this is often a secondary role and they often do not have the ability to switch between 2WD, 4WD high gearing and 4WD low gearing. While automakers frequently tout a particular SUV's off-road prowess with advertising and naming, the daily use of SUVs is largely paved roads and urban areas. This also causes the term SUV to be used as a denigrating term by owners of "real" off-road workhorses. Initially extremely popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the SUV's popularity has since declined, due to criticism regarding excessive gasoline consumption, pollution, cost, and poor safety. Due to high oil prices and a declining economy since the mid-2000s, manufacturers have responded to buyers' complaints. The traditional truck-based SUV is gradually being supplanted by a new vehicle type, the crossover SUV, which uses an automobile platform for lighter weight and better fuel efficiency, but is no longer designed or recommended by the manufacturer for off-road usage or towing.

Police Use of SUVs and Trucks They use SUVs and trucks for off-road emergencies, such as high speed chases. They also use them for the dog squad, res…cue squad and swat teams. They are necessary for the equipment they carry.
that depends on what age truck or SUV is all newer model trucks have tow package as standard as do most suvs
Both plates are required on all cars and trucks in Wisconsin.
Mainly Nissan and Toyota
Chrysler was the first to introduce SUV.
technically yes an SUV can be considered a truck because for one SUV's and trucks use the same frames such as a ford expedition and an F-150 use the same frame as does a 1500 …and Tahoe. and for two when you look up parts for SUV's, they are usually under a truck category, like with fords, i have an expedition and when i look up parts for it, depending on the site or company, it is usually under ford trucks, not under the ford category. so in short, an SUV can be considered a truck.
well here in Pennsylvania the are all registered as cars, but some are built on and share many components with pickup trucks, for example a suburban or expedition is built lik…e a truck wheras a equinox or escape are on car platforms
GM calls the ElCamino a pickup in their literature.
the only major differences are SUV's are typically four door vehicles and they usually come with four wheel drive. its rare to see an SUV without four wheel. Trucks can get (f…rom factory) stronger frames such as with F-350 or 3500. these frames aren't used on SUV's. the largest frame ive seen was a 250 or 2500 frame on excursions and suburbans. and obviously, SUV's are completely enclosed as where trucks have a 6 or 8 foot bed.
The Chevrolet Tahoe is a SUV, but since it is based of the Chevrolet Silverado, it could be considered a truck also.
No! Simply because a Truck or Suv have a large surface area so any mass which is added won't make much of a weight difference! The tyres should be able to cope with the large …bass. It would look rather unusual in a truck though! I just suggest getting a Nissan Gt-r with subwoofers and just cruise! Or why don't you just not bother with subwoofers just use the built in radio and buy a home entertainment system for a new 52inch tv which you could buy for the price of a subwoofer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A typical corrosive material associated with an automobile, light truck, or SUV is battery acid (sulfuric acid solution in the lead-acid battery).
You need to clarify the amount you want to spend. 6'7520 is not a monetary amount.
Chrysler only makes sedans coupes and minivans such as the Chrysler 300 & 200 those both represent a sedan.
It depends on your speed and the age of the child. If you are goingfaster than 40 MPH upon impact, there is a very low chance ofsurvival. If you knock the child at 2 MPH or sl…ower, they'll getnothing but a bump on the head.
