Meat is supposed to be part of your daily diet. Before cooking just cut off the fatty area but too much; beef isn't good for your heart. But fish is very low in fat; you can have a lot of fish - not fried though. Chicken is low in fat. Pork isn't really that good for you in all. This may gross you out but there are worms in pork.

steak isn't fatening when you know how to cook it in the right way; olive oil, oregano and vinegar. that's how I do it when im on a diet.

It depends on how they were cooked, but eating too much meat of any kind can cause weight gain and obesity. Fried and grilled meat contains high amount of fat from the grease from the fry.
