As of a report released by IUCN Red List in November 2007, the Giant Panda was first on the list, and still the bear listed at the "very high risk of extinction in the wild". The report also found that six of the eight bear species are also now listed on the Red List, and are in a threatened state. The Sun Bear was listed second in that report, and for the first time status confirmed, since in the past there wasn't enough data to make a decision on it's status. The Giant Panda is listed the most endangered species of bear. According to the International Union of Conservation for Nature, or the IUCN Red List, the Giant Panda has a status of "endangered" with a population trend "decreasing". The Giant Panda has been listed as endangered since 1990, with a current estimated population of 1500 to 2000 in the wild. But at the same time, according to the US Fish and Wildlife Services, or the US FWS Endangered Species List, the Mexican Grizzly Bear, and subspecies Brown Bear, are listed as endangered in their regions. They are listed by the IUCN Red List as least concern, due in part to their large numbers and range that stretches so widely. It is believed that the Brown Bear numbers over 200,000 world wide. The sun bear, panda, and spectacled bear are endangered. The polar bear is listed as vulnerable, and the brown is considered least concern.
Probably the Grizzly bear. I'm not saying that they're bad animals, but they are the most aggressive of bears and cause the most maulings each year. They have really, really big, sharp claws, and really sharp teeth. They are also very big in size and height. They are also EXTREMELY protective of their young and food. Certainly not a creature you would want to tick off.
