black is just black you can't get any darker

Black is the absents of light

Black like any color is highlighted by the colors around it and what materials its on. bright colors/light make it stand out more. dark colors/dim light make it blend in.

Black is a shade. if made from Blue it is in its deepest, boldest form. the most widely use black is made from red. the red is a lot cheaper to make and it has a brighter more visible in a contrast ratio.

in clothes red is used the most. green is used to make a darker more durable dye which is used in more name brand and/or outdoor clothes

on paper the weight of the paper matters. lighter paper lightens its appearance.

in thick hard plastic it appears the same 99% of the time.

in paint the look of it all depend on the characteristics of the paint. water/oil based, matte/semi-gloss/gloss/metallic finish
