Yes and no.... hemoglobin is the part of the blood that actually carries the oxygen - hematocrit is the measure of red blood cells. The 2 are definitely related but measure differences in the same family

blood contains different cells and fibers, one those cells is RBC (red blood cell), these cells contain Hemoglobin, this substance makes them capable of carrying oxygen.

Heamoglobin is a protien found in red blood cells enabling them to efficiently carry oxygen. Blood on the other hand is a fluid found in the human body that transports materials throughout the body, its is composed of plasma, minerals, blood cells, food particals, some cellular waste etc. so no its not the same. its like we are in earth but we are not earth. get it?

Do hematocrit and hemoglobin content of blood measure the same thing?

Hematocrit and hemoglobin content of blood measure are not the same thing. The hematocrit, also known as the HCT, is the percentage of RBC in the blood volume. Hemoglobin, on the other hand, also known as HGB, is the measurement of protein in the blood.

Is the cause of anemia the same in all cases?

No. Laboratory signs indicating anemia vary with the underlying cause or type of anemia. it may include abnormal hemoglobin concentrations in the blood and a reduced hematocrit level.

Is giraffe blood red?

Giraffe blood is indeed red as it is functionally the same as human blood , using hemoglobin to carry oxygen.

Does blood and hemoglobin increase at the same time?

yes they increase at the same time as the number of red blood cells increase (which contain hemoglobin) the quantity of the blood increase. Not neccesaryly, theres a disease whose name i have forgoten in which due to a deficiency in either iron intake or absorption or both, the body is unable to form heamoglobin. why do u guys spell it hemoglobin its HEAMOGLOBIN. jeez

What Deliver?

Hemoglobin found in red blood cells deliver oxygen to all of our cells. The same hemoglobin also brings back carbon dioxide from the cells, which you "blow" off.

Is monkey blood the same as human blood?

the 287 hemoglobin units in a chimp are the same 287 hemoglobin units in a human. Humans did evolve from the chimp as did the gibbon, orangutan, gorilla and monkey. These animals cannot exchange blood with a chimp because it would kill them. They are not the same species because they evolved from the chimp.Humans did not evolve from the chimp because they have the 287 identical hemoglobin units as a chimp. The common chimp, the bonobo and the human have identical hemoglobin along with 98.4% same DNA. Go weigh it out.

10cm3 of normal specimen of human blood contains 1.2 grams of hemoglobin How many grams does 36 cm3 of the same blood contain?

4.32

Is heme and hemoglobin the same?

Heme + globin is Hemoglobin.

How can you blood level go from 6.6 to 7.9 with in 8 hrs the test was done at the same lab?

By blood level I assume that you are referring to Hemoglobin measurement. This rise in hemoglobin is possible in many different scenarios. If the patient was receiving a transfusion of packed red blood cells, we would expect to see a 1.0 mg/dL rise in hemoglobin post-transfusion. Another way this might be possible is due to the variation in instrumentation, repeat analysis of the same sample do not always result in the same value.

Is hemoglobin s the same thing as hemoglobin solubility?

Hemoglobin S refers to the hemoglobin that forms in patients with sickle cell anemia. Hemoglobin solubility is a test that can be performed in order to determine if the patient has sickle cell anemia.

What protein binds to oxygen?

The molecule that carries oxygen is the hemoglobin molecule. The cell that carries oxygen is the red blood cell.Blood. Red Blood cells. Or Haemoglobin in the red blood cells depending on what level you are looking at.The protein that carries oxygen in the blood is Haemoglobin(hemoglobin).

What role does fibrinogen play in the body?

Fibrinogen is part of the coagulation cascade, which results in the formation of a thrombus (clot). An enzyme called thrombin is activated in the coagulation cascade, which converts soluble fibrinogen in the blood into insoluble fibrin in the thrombus. So, fibrin can be thought of as the "cement" in a thrombus, holding the platelets together, and fibrinogen is the precursor.
