He died at the end because he was eaten by a crocodile.

In the middle ages this kind of death apparently symbolized the person had gone to Hell.

Captain J. Hook doesn't die. Sure, he was eaten by the ticking crock. But, in the novel "Peter Pan in Scarlet" Peter take's control of the "Jolly Roger" (Captain Hook's ship) renamed it to "Jolly Peter" and set out to find a treasure they found on a treasure map in Captain Hook's belonging after Peter thought the crock killed Hook.

He also let an adult, the circus master Ravello, to join his crew as butler.

At the end... Ravello is Hook in disguised.

Hook cuts off Peters shadow...

They all get stuck on a mountain in a bluzzard and Hook and Peter almost die. Hook is revived by a kiss by Wendy and Peter survives from Curly being a doctor.....

So, no.. Captain Hook doesn't die.

I am most certain that Peter Pan was immortal, for he would not grow up, nor could he be defeated. Hook had nothing over him, and other than that, Peter Pan was allies with every being in Neverland- they would never kill him!
