Just freeze a water bottle, thaw it out. shake well and look at it in the sunlight at just the proper angle (it's a bit tricky) you will see lots of small bits of plastic swirling around, looks like very small air bubbles but will fall to the bottom of bottle, so it can't be air. I have even tried taking water out of bottle before freezing. Plastic particles every time.

As long as you wash the interior of the bottle with warm water and soap, it should be fairly healthy; washing it after each reuse will help prevent germs from accumulating. Also, be sure to only reuse your bottles a few times, and only use bottles to store cold beverages (keep them cold).

Yes, I do it all the time when I am going to be out all day and want something cold to drink, but have no where to keep it cold. If you freeze it the night before you can drink it as it melts and it is good and cold.

It is very bad to freeze water bottles because some of the chemicals leak in to the water when they are melting after they are frozen. I do not recommend freezing your water bottle

It isn't bad to freeze them, unless you fill them up too high; water expands when it freezes, so just be sure to leave enough room towards the top to prevent the bottle from cracking open.

Many people do, so it's quite safe. However we should all try to reduce our usage of disposable plastic so re-usable boxes would be better.

If the container is full or nearly full, yes! Water and other liquids expand when frozen, and this can cause a plastic container to burst.

Well, there are some plastic bottles that are said to leech chemicals into the water, but apart from that there's no extra risk added by the freezing.

Actually, when you freeze your bottle it is not bad for you, it is just a little rumor/gossip.

Can you store drinking water for an extended amount of time in a Clorox bottle?

It would be a bad idea to store drinking water in a Clorox bottle. Don't cause confusion by putting something safe to drink in a poison container. It could lead to tasting/drinking actual Clorox by mistake.

Can plastic water bottles be filled and used again after freezing?

it is said that freezing water in an ordinary plastic bottle can cause cancer, you may like me thinki this is very stupid when you first hear this, but it is true! when you freeze the water, bits of plastic freeze into the water and so when you are drinking the water, you are drinking bits of plastic aswell! im not stopping you from doing this im just warning you of the outcome! the only thing that really annoys me about this is, that when i told my mates that my mum researched this up, they wont stop going on about it in the summer or whenever they see frozen water in a bottle, e.g they will say stuff like Emma's mummy says freezing water can give you cancer, it is really annoying!plus the other day my friend suddenly started saying that she wasnt going to eat, which was pretty random, so at lunch time my m8 was kinda forcing her to eat, then my friend said has anyone got any chewing gum, we all said no, then i said chewing gum is bad for you, and she said im NT gonna listen to your stupid explanation because you mummy says you can get cancer from freezing water! i wanted to cry because its not fair that im being bullied by the truth
