I like watching television too. There are some good shows every now and then. I really like Chuck and Pushing Daisies. But reading overs a lot more variety (I know... hundreds of channels... but MILLIONS of books), and you can usually get more that you want in certain genres. Science Fiction for instance. Unfortunately, the Science Fiction television channel doesn't always show Science Fiction... it shows a lot of fantasy, which is okay, but then it also is big on *Wrestling* of all things. ... So, when you are let down by your channel, there are bunches ofScience Fiction *books* waiting for you... great stuff.

O.k that's definatly personal opinion! I way prefer books because you can use your own imagination to picture whats going on and can read them in your own time.

∙ 12y agoI would argue against that, in my opinion reading books far outweighs watching television. Reading books stimulates your imagination more, and you learn a lot more.
The content of the book and the TV program also influence the answer. The TV program can be a College level course and the book does not have to have any benefit. For that matter the goal that is desired is also important. If what you are seeking is a better way to relax and spend your free time what you find the most enjoyment in is better than the alternative. There are many ways of looking at how something is better or even better for you.
