# I don't think it harms you as much as talc powder because if you eat baby powder or any powder containing talc then you can get cancer or you can have breathing problems, but pure cornstarch can't harm you that much but on all baby powder bottles or any powder bottles it says that it can cause you breathing problems and believe me im13 and i was eating baby powder on and off for 1 year now and sometimes i can't breath.so just try to stop that's what im doing i didn't eat none in like 2 weeks and sometimes i want to eat some but i stop myself. it's pretty hard but you just got to stop and if you want to cure this then just go to the doctor and get a check up so you can make sure nothings wrong with you.

Can you wear baby power in place of setting power?

Modern baby powder is really cornstarch with fragrance added, and cornstarch is a good cosmetic powder. You COULD use baby powder, but you'll walk around all day smelling like a baby. If one didn't want to smell like a baby all day, they sell cornstarch on the same aisle as the flour and sugar, and it's less expensive to get it that way. Apply it with a fluffy powder brush, or a Kabuki brush.

When is cornstarch powder an effective treatment for diaper rash?

It doesn't cure diaper rash--cornstarch is mixed with talc to make powder. It is thought to help absorb wetness. If the baby has a rash, a cream with zinc oxide will help heal the rash before it gets out of hand. The baby should also have some time without a diaper on, since air helps.
