Yes, I went in for an ultrasound on 09/24/09 and they told me I was 6 weeks and 4 days along. the baby's heart rate was 138bpm and I could hear it with the abdominal ultrasound and the transvaginal.
However, every pregnancy is different. Godd luck!

∙ 12y agoIt is possible but unlikely that your fetus's heart tones can be heard as early at nine or ten weeks. Twelve weeks is the typical date we look for the heart tone with certainty that we will hear it. Hearing a heart beat at ten weeks would require a lot of luck on the part of the practitioner and a Doppler would definitely be needed.

∙ 12y agoThe heart of the embryo at 8 weeks is very small. It is not fully formed either. Sometimes even doctors can not hear it because it depends on so many other factors: Whether the mother has eaten recently, where the embryo implanted into the uterine wall, if the suspected date of fertilization is correct.... There are many variables.

∙ 12y agoIt is not normal,the baby might be dead already inside.have it checked by the doctor.At 6 weeks,heartbeat can be already heard by a fetoscope or an ultrasound.

It really depends on you. If you are a more slender woman that yes, chances are you will be able to hear the baby's heart beat. I heard my second child's heartbeat at 8 weeks, and with my first at 6 weeks, both were my initial appointments with my doctor. But if you dont hear it until 16 weeks, dont worry, it is not uncommon. It does not mean the baby is not doing well.
